I Can't Be the Only One

So, I'm sitting here watching Brother's and Sister's. I feel like a loser typing that:P Every week I watch it, and every week I say to Husband "Why do I watch this drippy, whiney show?" (Sissy, I know you watch it too...so I'm not the only one:P)

Anyway, the mopey Colista Flockhart character is all "Oh, woe is me...I'm married to Rob Lowe, but I'm having an emotional affair with hot single dad guy in the park:("

My only question is..."She adopted a baby like, two episodes ago...and she already has a person to hang with?!?"..."and he's a hot guy!?!"

Now I've been at this Stay at Home Mom gig for over three years now...and I have yet to make one real friend...in the park, or anywhere! I love my Husband, don't get me wrong...I'm just asking..."Where's my cool person to hang with at the park?"..."heck, I'd settle for someone who wasn't a nanny...strike that, I'd settle for someone who just spoke English!"

That's it...I'm moving to TV Land!

I owe you all updates...I'm going to try to get to it tom. I meant to get to my Blogger Can be Cool series (would you believe the blogger I was showcasing went and quit blogging?). I need to regroup on that series...I think I'll just use test sites...not sure.

As far as my new BFF girl...I am off to email her right now. We've had a couple play dates. I can't tell if the Weather Gods know something I don't. Every time we set something up, the flood gates open, and Noah floats down the street in his arc...I'll keep you posted.

My New BFF?

OK, so I finally met up with girl from the St Pat's party. We had already canceled twice for various reasons (crappy weather) so I didn't know if it was happening today. Would it kill the weather Gods to give me a couple nice days in a row?

The museum we decided to meet up at is about 5 blocks away from our house. This means, I'm loading up the stroller and walking. On a good day, this is a nonevent...in a monsoon...it just sucks:P

I don't know why it's so hard to get my team rolling in the morning...it just is. I didn't know what to wear? I had on cute shoes, but the rain was coming down so hard, I switched to rain boots at the last minute. It was a windy rain, the umbrella turned inside out, I was soaking wet. Great...way to put my best foot forward:P

I like her...I do. She is really nice (almost too nice). Her kiddos are just perfect (twin boys). I felt like such a schlep with my tantrum throwing, loud, opinionated kiddos (Miss Peach actually made a boy cry in the playroom).

Bottom line, it's just hard. It's hard to meet new people, and make new friends. I got home, and she had emailed me saying "she had a nice time and would love to get together next week"...Score, I think? I mean we'll see if the second date actually happens. I don't think we scared her away...fingers crossed...and no, she doesn't know about the blog;)

Blow Out

Do you know what this is? Yeah, I blew out another wheel on my Phil & Ted's Stroller! Do you see where the axle meets the wheel? That is where the bearings are supposed to be...only they fell out:O
By my calculations, I have put more miles on my stroller than my car, over the last three years! Thankfully, I already have a replacement wheel on the way. I hate being grounded:P

Oh, if you are wondering how my play date went...good old Big City weather crapped out on us. We took a rain delay:( Soooo, I won't be able to give details until Friday.

Oh, guess who was chosen one of Design Rivers 25 Best Designed Twitter Backgrounds? Me! Check it out...

Back In the Pool

Oh my, oh my, oh my. Ya'll, I'm back in the dating pool. OK, not really. You know I have been in this whole "I have no friends" wallowing pool lately? Well, I went to a St. Pat's Day party (took the kiddos with)...anyway, I met someone:O

I know, total friend potential! I feel like I am single girl at the bars meeting cute guys:P Chicky had awesome shoes, awesome jeans, is a runner. She was funny, lives in the 'hood, and she has twins between Miss Peach and The Little Man. I know "where have you been for the last three years?"

We talked for quite a while. I thought about giving her my number, but I wasn't sure...didn't want to seem too interested. Then as I was leaving, she pulled me aside and jotted down her email and said "let's get together soon". Yay!

Now I'm all, "how long do I wait to email her back?" "I don't want to seem to desperate...don't want to scare her off."

Good Lord people...I'm pathetic!

Doggon'it People Like Me!

So, I joined NaBloPoMo. Check out my new badge in the sidebar...You know the drill, I post every day for a month. What that means is, I will be buggin' you all on weekends as well as during the week...Got it, good! You know I have been starving for friends who are Moms right? So, last night the playgroup I take the kiddos to had a Moms night out for sushi and martinis. I threw my hat in the ring...let's do it! I am giving these girls a try. We are all different ages, we all have different degrees of education, we are all very different. The one common thread, kiddos. I had a pretty good time. I think I will just keep signing up for the outings, and keep trying. There isn't any "click" with any of them, but it is still nice to go out just as me, not as a wife, or a mom...I mean seriously, no kids, sushi and martinis...Where is the downside?

SAHM in The City.

OK, so here's the thing. I have no girlfriends who are mom's in my city. It is a total bummer. I went to another playgroup through the meet up organization. It was really nice to go to some one's house and just set the kiddos down and let them play while the girls gabbed. Problem is, I have absolutely nothing in common with these girls...I mean if we didn't have kiddos around the same age, our paths never would have crossed. Yes, I am watching Sex & the City reruns which is why I am in this longing for girlfriends mode. Anyway, the kiddos and I go to the park a lot...I am not kidding you, all nannies. I am not kidding you, no moms. Sometimes I feel like an alien for being a SAHM! Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with nannies, it's just that they all hang together and speak another language while the kiddos beat on each other in the sandbox. Needless to say, there isn't much for me to add in Polish. I keep trying new things...playgroups, zoo activities, sing alongs...these are all great things for the kiddos to do, it would just be more fun if I didn't feel so alone all the time. I guess I just wonder, do you make new friends as an adult? I am sittin' here trying to think of my last new friend. Oh, now I remember...That went really badly. What's a girl to do with no nanny in the city???
