Daily Chuck...

Hmmmm...does it seem neither one of them is happy with me:/

I'm still having trouble with inside shots. I spoke to a photographer at Gleek Retreat who told me that that was one of the troubles with my camera. The ISO isn't really great. Cameras now you can take the ISO up into the thousands...me, if I'm over 800, it ain't pretty.

Now I want a new camera...I'll add that to the list of things I can't afford to buy right now...*le sigh*

  1. Me either. I SO want a new camera - I mean, I Love the one I have, but I want more pixels and greater ISO range. But you're doing fine - one of the things a photographer must do is learn how to work within the limitations of the tool at hand. If you're having ISO issues, a faster lens might be helpful - if not affordable. The thing is, both Canon and Nikon use the same mount that earlier film cameras used, so there are not only good used Canon and Nikon lenses out there, but good third-party lenses, as well.

  3. I am feeling your pain. My camera only goes up to 800 and my inside shots just plain suck. I, too, have new camera envy. *sigh*

  4. Well I am not a photographer but I love this picture, it made me chuckle and I actually like it better than Docce :-)

Also good to know that I am not the only mom that cannot get ponytails to be in the same place on both side of the head!

  6. We need to start a group on Facebook...those who want new cameras but probably aren't going to get them anytime soon. I keep thinking a new piece of glass is going to solve my problems but the glass isn't cheap either.

However m'dear...that's still a pretty great shot, ISO be damned! Your photos of Smokey are always awesome!

I couldn't take it anymore and I tried to get Geronimo to play along with me and let me put stuff on him. The results were...less than stellar. Come on over and have a look! I didn't even bother to run upstairs to grab either of my Sony's. I just grabbed my point and shoot and went at it. Damn that thing is so slow!

Geronimo STILL hasn't forgiven me yet!

  7. HAHAHAHAHA!!! LOVE IT!! Might actually be better than Dooce's! Their expressions are GREAT! & I love your daughter's ponytail! I was going to say what Lceel said. Buy a better camera isn't exactly a helpful response to your question. The web has to have tons of resources to work with what you have. I think working with a camera that doesn't have all the bells and whistles can probably help you learn some cool things that will make you an even better photog when you can afford a newer camera. I think lighting could really help a lot so I would say look into cheap and easy ways to use existing lighting.

  11. I think the photo is great. I can understand why the cat isn't happy, but I think your daughter looks more bored than mad.
