In a nutshell, The Joffrey Ballet is a wonderful dance troupe that has been in Chicago for 53 years. Is it ridiculous that I am just giddy about this? When I showed the article to Miss Peach, her mouth hit the floor, and she could not stop inhaling:O She took me by the hand and said "Come on Mama...let's go shopping!" (The sale isn't until the end of the month.)
I know the costumes will be too big for her (typical sizes are between a 2-4). It's dress up stuff, and I think she'll have a blast and we might find some fun stuff! Prices will range from $25-$100. I told her we could buy one, maybe two things. I mean, I'm not made of money, and this is the kind of thing that can easily get out of hand fast:/
I kinda wish I hadn't pulled the trigger on my grown up Halloween Party costume* (remember I always go to a rockin' Halloween Party?) Seriously, talk about major cool costume potential for Halloween '10. It's not too early for that...no?
*I will post pics of this years costume once I pull the whole thing together and try it on;)
Wow! I would be all over that. And if there is anything that would be appropriate for ballroom dance for a 10 year old? I would totally paypal you some cash to grab it! We're looking for some good "bones" that can be *converted* into cha cha and samba ensembles : )
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I love that purple tutu!!
ReplyDeleteThat would be a fun sale.. are you taking miss Peach with you?
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great mother-daughter sale to go to!
ReplyDeleteOh have fun! My little guys are not too into dress ups (except for trying to wear my shoes and my husband's). Maybe if I get a girl one of these days . . .
ReplyDeleteYou and Miss Peach are so awesome. I love your mommy/daughter relationship....sounds so sweet and peaceful. So you're telling us you're gonna show us pics of you in ballet costumes? I can not wait!!
ReplyDelete:-)
Happy Monday....
How cool is that! There are a couple of theaters around here that do sales from time to time of their old costumes and I have always wanted to to, but somehow never have.
ReplyDeleteGet some goodies!!
Oh wow! I used to dance growing up and I couldn't wait until the day I got my toe shoes and flowing tutus. She will treasure those!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so cool! You are the best mama.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I neeeeeed a tutu like NOW! That's what I always wanted but alas I never had a ballet recital. Our recitals were for tap and jazz. BOOOOO!!! I didn't know you had multiple BFAs. Pretty cool! There's this area of Atlanta called Little 5 Points where it seems every store has tutus but they're all like $50... that seems a bit excessive... HOWEVER methinks I must find a way to be a ballerina for halloween... & Christmas... & thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteOMG... I would LOVE a sale like that. I can't even imagine the damage I could do. Not going to think about it because Im seething with jealousy that Im not in the big city with you. Waaaa....
ReplyDeleteOooooh! I love the Joffrey! AND you're getting authentic costumes? Oh, I bet they're gonna be spectacular! I cannot wait for the pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I would go nuts. You know my love for all things ballet. This sounds like an amazing event! Love the tutu.
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds awesome! Better than the Jimmy Choo for H&M! Now, that's a shopping event that can't be missed! I wish I could come shopping there with you, I'm sure it would be lots of fun! Girls are so awesome. They are like live Barbies ;-)
