Babies Grow Up

OMG...would you look at this! Just look at this!!! Where did this grown up girl come from?!?

This is Miss Peach's first school picture...sooooo cute.

On the way home Miss Peach drops this bomb on poor Mommy...

Miss Peach: "You know, I'm getting to the point where I don't need a Mommy anymore." (skipping down the sidewalk to smell a "pretty flower")
Me: (as my heart sinks into my stomach) "What will Mommy do if you don't need a Mommy anymore?"
Miss Peach: "Don't feel bad Mommy, that's just the way it goes. Babies grow up and become big girls and move out. It's OK though, 'cause I'll get a phone, and you can call me anytime you want:)"

So, she'll be getting a job downtown next week, and I think moving into a nice condo in the Gold Coast;)

If anyone knows how to slow her down, can you email me...ummmm, now?

  1. What a cutie! And just tell Miss Peach that little girls will ALWAYS need their mommies. I know I still need mine!

  2. When this popped up in my Reader I was like "WOW!" She looks SO grown up. She's so adorable!

You can't stop it. She will get a phone (which you will pay for for longer than you want to) and you can text her whenever you want. I do it myself everyday.

  5. Slow her down nothing, I want to move in with her. How do you feel about arranged marriages? I've got one very handsome 3 1/2 year old grandson, he can be Rod and she can be Patty Mell, they'll rule the world, or at least the Gold Coast.

  6. Does she need a 9 year-old roommate? Because mine is telling me that she's NEVER moving out... :/

I LOVE the look on her face in that pic! Priceless!

  7. That reminds me of one morning before grade school with my son. He cheerfully informed me, "I'm done!"

To which I replied, "Oh really? You got dressed, brushed your teeth, finished high school, graduated college, got a job and moved out?"

He just gave me that a dazed and confused look and said, "Uh, no."

    We laughed like hyenas.

  11. If I knew the answer to that problem, do you think two of mine would be in college right now?

  17. I totally understand how you feel. I look at my kids and think who do these kids belong to? In my minds eye they will always be little.

  19. Our girls want to live with us forever. They said they are going to get married and live in our house with their husbands and families. I tell it's okay, but my husband is trying to convince them it's good to live next to Mom and Dad, not with Mom and Dad, once you get married.

  20. That was so cute! So funny how when we are little we think we don't need our moms. Then when we grow up, we need our moms more!
