First...Happy Mother's Day to you all!
Second...I'm freakin' out! Remember when I told you that I had decided on the marathon I wanted to run, but that it was a lottery to get in? Well guess what...I got in:o Now I am wiggin' out. I didn't think for a moment that I would, now I am looking at 20 weeks of hard training. Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing, but holy gonna be a ton of work Batman! This will be my third attempt at qualifying for Boston. I won't say that if I don't make it, it's a failure, because I think anyone who runs a marathon, at any pace, is a winner. I just hope third time's a charm:) Now I gotta go for a run...
OK, I just got back from my run...I did a really easy 5K. I am happy to report, all the parts still work. I know I am going to sound crazy, but I felt a bit like a gladiator dusting off their armor as I dug out my running gear:P Here's the thing with me, when I wanted to get pregnant with Miss Peach, it was very hard. Long story short, I was told by doctors that I had to stop running. It was hard for me to go from Marathon shape to absolutely no running at all. Well, two babies and three years later, I'm starting over. The run felt OK. I was huffin' and puffin' at the end. Here's the thing, running a marathon is about putting in the work. It's a long 20 weeks of training. I am not looking forward to 5:30am 20 mile training runs (trying to beat the heat). However, I do love being in Marathon shape:) It's gonna take a while to get there, but today, I took my first step. Yes, I will blog from start to finish (warning: you might hear a lot of b*tching along the way;)

If you weren't b*tching along the way I would have to say you're despicable (spit included).
ReplyDeleteIf you weren't asking someone to shoot you after the first run than you will have no problem getting back in the saddle. Good luck!
