Wonderful World of Disney!

Well, if you have spent any amount of time here, you know Miss Peach is in full on Disney Princess mode. I don't know if she is fully aware of what Disney World is, she just knows it's where the Princesses live. When I was a kiddo, my parents were big Disney people...We went there many times. I have really been itching to take Miss Peach. I just think she is at the age where it would just be magic! I haven't been in about six years. From what I can remember, I'm going to list my favorite rides at Disney. Including some which I believe/or know are gone:(
1) Mr Toads Wild Ride-We just love, love, loved this ride as kiddos. I know it's gone, I so wish they would bring it back...2) The Haunted Mansion-Still there and exactly as I remembered as a kiddo. We would just go around and around and around again on this one. So much fun!3) The Pirates of the Caribbean- I haven't been to this since the movies were such a hit. I wonder if they've changed it? We just loved this ride!
4) Country Bear Jamboree-I know this isn't a ride, but we loved this. What's not to love about robotic singing bears? It was a nice break and so fun:)
5) Space Mountain-I am not a roller coaster person, so this one kind of scared me when I was a kiddo. I remember thinking it was sooo futuristic...6) Splash Mountain-Log fume...'nuff said!
7) Swiss Family Treehouse-Is this one still there? I remember wanting to move there when I was a kiddo!
8) It's a Small World-Now, let me explain this...It's not that I love this ride, it's corny. I love the memory this ride gives me. I remember standing in line with the fam. hearing It's a Small World over and over and over...I'm just happy it's still there so I can torture my kiddos with it:)
9) Hall of Presidents-Same thing...My Dad just loved this. I remember thinking it was boring and yet, I can't wait to torture my kiddos with it.
10) Peter Pan's Flight-When I was a little one, I just thought this ride was magic. Looking down at all the little houses...I just loved it!11) Spaceship Earth-The first time we went to Epcot Center, I just thought this was the coolest thing!
12) Tower of Terror-I took my nephew on this ride. Scared the sh*t out of me! I even bought the picture of us screaming our heads off:O
13) Cinderella's Castle-Now, I know this isn't a ride...but maybe some of you Disney people can tell me...I hear they have now opened this to the public. Is this true? Miss Peach would be over the moon if she could actually visit Cinderella's Castle!I so have to plan a trip...I just love Disney World:)

  6. I spent so much time at Disneyland - really years of weekends because our band worked in the parade. I love all of those rides - Mr. Toad especially. It's truly a magical place.

    Happy TT!

  7. They have changed Pirates, actually. And, were working on it when we were there in 06...my hubby who had never been was furious. They are also changing the Haunted Mansion. Swiss Family is there. They did open Cinderella's castle. They're even letting super VIPs stay overnight. I'll give you full details soon...we are heading there in two weeks. Hubby's so happy to ride Pirates he's like a pig in poo.

  10. Disney is wonderful, just like they say (I'm only a little tired...). I especially love the pre-1975 cartoons. Art and intelligence and kindness in all of them.

  11. I've never been to DW myself. Because we lived less than a few hours away, my family often went to Cedar Point when I was a kid.

By the way, very nice T13 header graphic.

  15. We need to plan trip too. As soon as Baby is older.

I loved the Haunted House and Pirates. I also loved Tom Sawyer's island. My brother and I played for what seemed like hours in those caves.

  16. One of the few regrets I had as a child was not ever visiting Disneyland or Disneyworld. It does look magical, and to a child I'm sure it is.

  28. I have always dreamed of going to Disney World. BUT....too far away.
I went to Disney Sea in Tokyo but while it looked magical, it was all in Japanese and I couldn't enjoy it.

  29. I am a self-professed Disney FANATIC. I worked at DW in college for awhile, you know. I could answer all of your questions, but then that would make me a loser, so I'll just say that they changed Pirates a tiny bit by adding Johnny in there in a few places.

  30. when I was little there was a pack mule ride - loved it! Also love Tom Sawyer's Island and STILL miss Monsanto.
I posted about JUST that ride once.
Thing I hate about Haunted Mansion is that tiny woman at the end . . .
I have chills up my spine right now just thinking about her!

  34. We just took our 4 year old, princess fanatic to Disney Land in December. I had a fabulous time. I will never forget the look of excitement on my daughter's face when we dined with THE princesses and when she went on her first rollercoaster ride.

    You'll have a blast!

  35. Oh! This is a great post! I LOVE Disney!

Haunted Mansion and Pirates have both been redone in the past two years, as has Spaceship Earth. There are also LOTS of new rides for you to love ~ like Soarin'!

One of our all-time favorites is "Carousel of Progress".

  39. I've never been to Disney World, and only went to Disneyland once, so I don't remember any of those rides! However, my 3 year old constantly asks to go. Constantly. Drives me crazy actually. We'll go when she's actually old enough to remember it I think!

  40. We started taking our son to Disney World when he was two and now he is 32 and we have been every year except two. Now it's the grand kids that are growing up there. We LOVE it there!!

  41. When they took out Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, there was a Web petition to save it. This was several years ago, and was the first famous Web petition I'd heard of. Now they have them for everthing.

    Save the toad, indeed.
