That's How I Roll...

The last day for the Blog Makeover Contest is Jan 2. I won't take any comments after 4pm eastern time, get your comments in, and good luck to all!

I'm not doin' full on resolutions this year. God bless you if you are, and good luck to you. First off, I think '08 is going to be a great year...are you with me on this? Do you feel it, cause I do! Here's the thing, I think if you do to much changing in a resolution, you are doomed to fail. So I'm going to play it like this... I am going to try to do a little bit more. Walk a little more, play a little more, work out just a little bit more than I already do. I am going to try (just try) to consume a little bit less. I don't need a whole lot of anything, and neither do the kiddos, if I can do more with them and get less for them, that will be a good thing. As far as eating, if I can get one veggie on the plate once a day and have a healthy breakfast, I think I'm ahead of the game. I'm not totally revamping the way I eat, I'm gonna eat a little bit less, and try to hit that one veggie every day. What it comes down to is doing a little bit more for myself and my family, and consuming a little bit less. I'm taking this consume thing pretty far. How many of you are sick of the latest Britney/Lindsay/Paris/Britney's Sister drama? I know I am. I'm done paying any attention to it (not that I ever really did, but it really is hard to get away from). This is the year, we are electing a new President! Let's do that...get out and do that...Pay attention to what the candidates are saying, one of them will be the next leader of our country. That matters, who will win the next American Idol does not. I'm not sayin' I won't be watching my AI. I'm just saying do a little more of one, and a little less of the other...just a little. This is going to be a great year...This is the year I am going to try again to qualify for The Boston Marathon...So bring on 2008, it's gonna be great! Are you with me???

  11. T-otally with you! My catch phrase for the new year is Life is Great in 2008. Maybe corny, but I agree, I feel it in my bones that this one is going to outshine all my (gulp) 47 previous years! I didn't do "resolutions" but I did set some goals and have already started working on the, planning for success.

I WON'T however, be doing any marathon qualifying! Ugh!

  14. Just a little more is a great outlook to making change. Don't you have to have a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon? My husband and I were just having this discussion. Happy New Year and you'll do great!

  17. I love your 'a little more / a little less' idea. My resolution this year has been to wake up and paste a smile on my face... even if it is 5am, with 4 wakes during the night from Miss 11 Months!! I want to work on being a little more positive.

Go the marathon - that is awesome!

  23. Good Luck with your training, I know how hard it can be - my hubby has run the BM as a ghost runner, he has yet to be able to qualify!
I think anyone who is crazy enough , i mean WILLING to run it should qualify. :)

  26. Boston Marathon!?! You rock! I was excited when I finished a 10K in less than an hour. You are awesome!
And yes, if I never hear another story about Britney/Paris/Lindsey again it will be fine by me.

  27. I'm a masochist. My resolution is to not drink soda. Yep, no Coke. (Do I hear you gasping?) Although, I AM permitting myself Izze drinks, which are fruit juice and sparkling water. When are your quals for the marathon? I am SO sending you good vibes for a great year ahead! :)

  29. I have a one to eight resolution keeping record. For every eight I make, one sticks.
Two years ago it was to always have my laundry smell good, that one stuck. And actually I counted it for last year too, I was that shocked with myself.
This year I'm considering not eating any seafood that is on the "endangered" list. But when I say that to myself I feel like I should be wearing Birkenstocks, quit shaving my body hair and sport a "SAVE THE WHALES" t-shirt.
