Santa at Louis Joliet Mall!

When I was a kiddo, the mall was where everything happened. If you wanted to meet up with friends...at the mall. If you wanted to grab a quick bite to eat...at the mall. My high school job...at the mall. Whether it was shopping, or socializing, the mall was where we were.
After hearing about the #LJMDigiTree at the Louis Joliet Mall, I was a bit curious...and so were my kiddos!

For us, the best part about it is, it is right smack dab between us up in the city, and my parents, who live downstate. I hate to admit, we don't get downstate as much as I'd like.  Meeting in between makes things SO much easier to do some Christmas shopping together.

My daughter wanted to share her Christmas wish with Santa, and my son wanted to check out the Digi Tree. We hopped in the car, and buzzed down I-55 to check things out.
Wow...there is NO missing this tree...it is HUGE! I know I've delivered when my son stands and stares. They were still setting up last night, so it was in test mode. The tree goes live Wednesday Nov. 26, at 10am. It is a digital tree with panels for posting store deals, events, a photo booth to post selfies...Very interactive and fun!
I don't know what it is with my son, every year, he chickens out on Santa at the last minute *insert big sad face. What's up with that? He LOVES getting presents from Santa, but I can not get my Benny to pay him a visit. Miss Maggie on the other hand, was all about seeing Santa to explain the logistics of him getting her a live elephant this Christmas. Good luck to Santa on that one.
After a quick stop to play...we were ready to pay the man in red a visit.
That Santa is one crafty character. He managed to steer my daughter into a nice stuffed elephant instead of a real elephant. SO much easier on the sleigh...and mommy's living room. THANK YOU Santa!
My daughter had a blast just hanging out and chatting with Santa. We have already targeted our next trip. We are meeting my mom and her adorable dog Tucker Puppy for Paws and Claws pet pictures with Santa at Louis Joliet Mall December 1. How fun is that?!

For a list of all the Holiday Festivities, please check them out on Facebook

You can bet we'll be sending Tucker's picture up to the Digi Tree! Stay tuned!

*While I was invited to experience the holidays at Louis Joliet Mall, and compensated, all experiences and opinions are my own.

  4. Never heard of a Digi Tree! Loved your photos, I try to avoid malls at all cost during this time of year, but I do have some fandango I need to use up soon so I may head out there this Saturday. (hopefully avoiding the black friday chaos, LOL)

  7. Great photos, love the concept of a digiTree. Looking forward to the trip up to Louis Joliet mall...

Tucker is all excited she never has met Santa. We discussed her wish list and believe Santa is welcome to consider all requests except one...for some reason Tucker wants a puppy to play with.

  8. Thanks for reminding me how much fun it is to shop at Louis Joliet. Going up this Saturday from Wilmington with the nieces and nephews to so some shopping. They will certainly enjoy seeing the decorations and relax in the play areas. We plan to visit Bath and Body Works, Body Central, Work and Gear, and Mc Sports for starters and walk all the mall...lunch ...love the variety of eating places...so it will be long day...but I am looking forward to it. Super photos.

  11. Looks so fun! Santas at the mall were my favorite as a kid. We did it with our kids when we lived in a smaller city, but now we havent since we moved in 2010.. sadly.
