Tailgating...Todds BBQ Style!

We are not a big football family. I enjoy watching the occasional game. There's nothing better than catching a Bears game on the TV...especially when the weather turns colder.

The kiddos equate football, and food, with one thing...The Super Bowl. I whip up a mean chili nachos, and the whole family sits in front of the TV and chows down while watching the game. That's how we tailgate!

When I told the kiddos that Mommy was doing a tailgating shop...they immediately asked, "Is it The Super Bowl Mommy?"

"No...we're just going to stop by Todds BBQ at Mariano's Frankfort, and pick out some yummy game day specials to eat while we watch some football on TV!"

They were thrilled! "We get to eat in front of the TV!?! YAY!!!" Yeah...we're pretty easy to please;)
The gentleman at Todds was so nice. He explained the game day special options.  We could get a full slab of ribs for $10, smoked pulled pork for $8 per lb, as well as a cup of baked beans or chili for just $2! Yum!
The kids were super excited watching them prepare all the goodness we had ordered! It. Smelled. SO. Good!
How AWESOME does this look!?! The kids were totally bummed they didn't get to eat immediately, but I reminded them...we are tailgating! They packed our ribs, burnt end baked beans, and our mac n cheese up for us and off we went.

The Bears had a bye week, so we watched the Denver Broncos. I love me some Denver Broncos. I really don't know why. It might be because I like the team colors, I like Denver, I even like Payton Manning. I so wish he had pulled out a win in Indy.

We got home just in time to turn on the game and watch Denver kick some bootay against the Washington Redskins! I don't know why, but it's a little hard for me to root against Mike Shanahan...probably because he used to coach the Broncos back in the day. Either way...Denver won 45-21....Yay Broncos!
I really don't know if the kiddos have any idea what is going on with the football game. All they know is...they are eating in front of the TV! It was GOOD food! Burnt end baked beans are...in the words of my son, "So good it makes me want to cry!" You know what...he is right!
If you get the chance to stop by a Todds BBQ, I highly recommend it. Currently, they are at Mariano's Harwood Heights, Mariano's Frankfort, and at the new Mariano's Wheaton. If you have to drive, like we do, it is SO worth the trip! Don't forget to try the sauces, we could not get enough of them:P

Even though we are not a tailgating, football family...we sure do know how to enjoy some tailgating food. We got so much, we even had it the next night for dinner...and yes...we ate in front of the TV! What...it's tailgating food;)

To keep up with all things Mariano's, but sure to check them out on Facebook and Twitter. You an also see other Mariano's shoppers experiences from the Mariano's community page. Happy tailgating!
