Toothless Joe

That's me:/

I've seen the second dentist. He was singing a sad song to me...

Basically, there isn't enough tooth to do the post, new crown on. He says "there's only a millimeter of good tooth there, and it's possible that he can do about $2,000 worth of dental work and that millimeter could break. Then all that work is down the tubes:/"

SO...his recommendation is to do an extraction, and then an implant. Big. Sad. Face:(

None of this sounds fun, and when did having teeth get so DANG expensive?!?

I mean...I can have a tooth...or take my entire family to Disney World! How can this be?!?

I can have a tooth...or a totally pimped out new Mac Book Pro!

I'm going to do the extraction next week...that's only $995. Only...is what the dentist said. In what world is $995 "only"???

Then I gotta wait four months for it to heal before I decide on the implant.

Teeth suck:/

    1. The $995 is just for the extraction. I'm looking at another $2,500 for the implant:(

  5. I will try again, leaving out the name of a dentist that might have been insulting to someone :)

My husband is in the middle of finishing his implants and he is happy, over the moon !
Painless, everything works out perfectly the first time and he is able to chew again on the right side :)

I , thanks to dentists in the past who were something from a nightmare, have vowed to have no more work done, I will just be a toothless old woman or have those funny, ill-fitting false teeth.

  6. OMG! I'm so glad we have the NHS over here. An extraction cost me £34 last time. The downside is that all the dentists are Polish and their English is not so great, so who knows what you could end up with?

    1. I am twenty years old and female. I had teeth and gum problems all of my life but no more. I have for the last year and a half smooth empty gums and I put my teeth in a glass at night together with cleanig tablet. Nobody should suffer with poor teeth. Wearing dentures takes a while to get used to but you will get so used to them that uou will not be concious of wearing them.. It takes a while to get used to the toothless gums when you speak with the dentures out or catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. I am at a stage now wherere I have almost gone out to work without my dentures on more than one ocasion. I have been in my car about two miles up the road when I have noticed I was not wearing my teeth. I regularly take breakfast without my dentures in to save time in cleaning them afterwards and I am usually running on the last minute so its only a matter of time before I arrive to work flashing my pink smile at the boss as I clock in a few minutes late, as usual. I must get out of bed earlier. I would never consider putting metal in my jaw bones so the cost of implants doesnt bother me.
