Boys

Boys are different than girls.

My Little Man has one gear...fifth. He leads with his face, wherever he goes...no such thing as caution.

I felt so bad since this happened on my watch. I turned my back for one second...ONE SECOND! Plop...crying...on his face:(

My poor Little Man. He keeps saying "Mommy, there are spots on my face." It's like he forgot about the face plant he did on the pavement yesterday...

Boys...*shaking my head*

  1. And the great thing about boys is that even after a face plant, they get right back up again, on to the next daredevil stunt.

  2. Its true. SO true. My boys are 2 and 4. They have had more black eyes in their little lives than I have even thought of in my almost 30 years. In fact- my pediatrician often asks when I am going to get them helmets with full facemasks to wear daily. Currently- my 4 year old has a large slice on his foot and a burn on his chin. The little one is covered in bruises from head to toe.

And like the post above says- they are totally right back up and at it after an injury.

how will I make it till they move out!?!?!?

  4. We did it. X 3. Boys. Somehow, they've all made it to adulthood.

    I have no idea how.

  5. I think I have a little boy trapped in a girl's body, because my daughter is the epitome of leap first, look second. She ALWAYS has bruises and scrapes and bumps. I honest to blog worry that people think I beat her.

  7. Oh I know what you mean! I don't even have boys of my own, but when we have boys over to play with our girls, there's such a difference in the way that they play - I'm completely amazed at the things they do that my girls would never even think of!

He looks pretty proud of himself there, lol!

  8. Boys definitely have short term memory loss when it comes to any scraps and scrapes they get into. My youngest may cry for 2 minutes and then he's suddenly ready to get right back in the mix, completely unaware why he'd been crying or what he's doing hugging me!

  10. Ohmygoodness! He has gotten so big! How are you? Too bad about those scrapes. My son gets hurt on a daily basis. Maybe you're right -- it's a gear thing.

  11. Tell him he is a leopard or read Put Me in the Zoo.

My daughter thinks she is my son's twin, so she is not one of those sits quietly kind of girls. Both of them run full steam everywhere.

  13. So true! My older son in the bathtub one night was counting the bruises on his legs, and proudly announced that he had 12. He was delighted!

    Boys are weird.

  14. I hear you, mama -- my little guys are covered with bruises and scratches and dirt. And don't even get me started on the wrestling and roughhousing they do with each other.

The combination of new haircut and faceplant aftermath make your Little Man look so grown up!

  15. Isn't he supposed to wait until the day before school pictures to end up with marks on his face?
