House That Never Ends...

This is the house that never ends.It just goes on and on my friends. Somebody started building it not knowing what it was...and they'll continue building it forever just because...Seriously...this house has been going up for over two years now. Every time we walk by it....

Kiddos: "Mommy, is that house finished yet?"
Me:
"Nope."Between you and me....I'm not sure I like it:/

It reminds me of the Cullen house in the Twilight movie. Must be the wood/window combo. Judging by the weather we're having in Chicago, vampires could move in...no problem;)

Who ordered up winter again...NOT happy:P

*I'm in a fight with my camera. How the heck am I supposed to shoot outside on hazy gray days? All of these shots look like garbage to me:P What'd I do wrong? I'm printing the bad with the good...it's the only way I'll learn:/

  1. Hahaha!! Your blog is the second one to make me laugh out loud tonight. Thank you for that. We had a house next door to our cottage that was teh house that never ends. It took four years to complete. And it was [and remains] a giant beast.

  2. Ha! :) Have you found your white balance setting? Have you tried setting it to "shade"? (mine has a shade option...usually helps me...)

This cracked me up. I also thank you for it!

  4. On hazy, gray, flat days, avoid shots that include the sky - shoot high contrast or bright subjects - take shots that are under-exposed, to accentuate the gloom.

  5. That's it. I have to come to Chicago and see these houses. You know we have nothing like that around here. It makes me homesick for big cities (like Austin and Houston). When can I come? lol.

  7. Maybe they're related to Mrs. Winchester (The Winchester House). She had workers building around the clock for the 30+ years she lived in the house. Supposedly, she did that because some spiritualist told her that tragedy that befell her husband and child was because of her husband's gun company. So, the idea was that she was to build a place to appease the spirits (or confuse them with all the rooms?).

Hmmm...you should knock and find out their last name. LOL. Too funny and I love the lamb chop "Song that never ends".

  8. You have to wonder if they actually have a plan. It looks a bit random, even though it cost a fortune to build to this stage.

  9. It looks very Frank Lloyd Wrighty to me. All they need is a waterfall going through it. (Maybe that's next?)

Aaaaaand ... Now that song is stuck in my head. Thanks a lot! =>

  11. Yes, yes, yes . . . white balance is your friend. It's easy to fix in PhotoShop, but if you can find the setting on your camera, even better.
