The Blahs

I have the blahs. This time of year, it is quite common in Chicago. We go long stretches of time without seeing the sun. The sky is this nondescript gray color...Which leaves you wondering what time it is, pretty much all day. Here, I'll go take a picture...
You tell me what time it is? Can't tell...can you?

I'll snap out of it...I always do. There's plenty to blog about...

-Golden Globes- Ricky Gervais, dude you let me down:(

Best dressed Toni Collett. I just LOVE her! The pic doesn't do the dress justice...smokin'!

Worst dressed Chloe Sevigny. What the heck us up with that? It hurts my head to look at it:/
...and Tina Fey. (I have no words...other than, how did this happen to you?)

-24-is back, and on my dvr. Am I the only one still watching?

-American Idol-Why do I enjoy watching this train wreck every year ('cause I do)? Will I once Simon is gone?

-LOST- I know you're coming back...I can smell you...Last season, and you got some 'splainin to do.

-Winter Olympics in Vancouver-OMG...I am so jacked up, you don't even know! (parking my butt in front of the TV for two straight weeks) Yes, the Bro is working it. I might (might) go to the closing ceremonies...

See...lots to blog about...just gotta get out of the blahs...

  1. LOST! Soon! Yeah, that's about all I can think about once talk turns to TV stuff.

  2. I always think Chloe Sevigny looks hideous. I just don't get her.
I have 24 ready to watch, too...can't wait! I almost skipped last year because the previous season was so bad, but I've got faith in Jack Bauer!

  3. Loved Toni Collette, too. And your picture is one of the reasons I moved from Chicago to Florida. LOVE Chicago and miss it, but year round sunshine is so nice!

  4. It's been really bad down here in Kansas, too. We're not used to snow remaining for more than a few days, but the snow that fell on Christmas Eve is still here. And it's been gray and about 35 for days now, which means all that melting snow is creating lots of fog. A very, very unusual sequence of weather events for us in these parts. The five-day forecast shows no sign of the sun. I was used to all this when I lived in Minnesota, but down here it just feels all wrong. We're all getting very blah-y.

That's a much better picture of Toni than the first one I saw, which made her look about 60. They just caught her face looking terrible. My SO has a huge crush on Tina Fey, so I was secretly glad to see her looking so silly.

  5. Love love love 24 still! Watched it last night and we're recording tonight's episode.

I blogged about the Golden Globes and 24 today, too. Great minds think alike. ;)

p.s. long stretches of winter like yours make me glad I live in the South

  6. This time of the year I totally spike my coffee with Vitamin D. (And the kid's morning juice.)

And yes, Lost has a LOT of explaining to do.

  7. I liked Toni Collete's dress but the tan, ohmygod, was she orange. I didn't see Tina Fey's whole dress. Yikes.

LOST. On the edge of my seat waiting for that one to start. For real. Feb 2 can't get here soon enough.

  8. You pinpointed my 2 least favorite looks/dresses last night. Actually, I didn't mind Tina Fey's dress, I just didn't think her whole look did her any favors.

I am SO excited for Lost. Seriously. EXCITED.

  9. I hated Chloe's dress, but I hated Drew Barrymore's more... and I just saw Drew made the best dressed list, gah.

  10. I'm sorry about the winter blahs. I actually thought Ricky Gervais was funny. But I agree with your outfit critiques!

  11. I have the blahs too and, since I'm pregnant, they are Chicago-endless-winter blahs mixed with could-I-be-more-fat-and-frumpy ones.

Have to say that I do not mind Chloe's dress. I've seen her do much worse. She is awesome in the new season of Big Love, by the way.

Poor Tina. That dress was not a good idea.

    Hope your blahs lift soon!

  12. Oh man, I have the winter blahs, too, and I just got back from Florida. While it is great to get away during the winter months, to someplace warm and sunny, it's DREADFUL coming back to winter. All week, all I kept thinking about was the fact that I had to come back to my icky Canadian winter. It's GREY ALL THE TIME! Where the heck is the sun??? And the colour? It's like I live in a black and white movie! Blah!!! For happy pics, you can check out my Florida post! ;)
Golden Globes - I loved Jennifer Aniston last night. And Reese Witherspoon and Kate Hudson. :) Hated Sandra Bullock's purple prom dress!

  13. Ah I remember the blahs... I'm from England - it's like that all winter/Spring. Sucks.

Can't wait for Lost. Am already dreading it being over forever. Waa!

  14. I hear ys on the Blahs. I will be coming down to Chicago fairly soon to see my sis... we can get together to help the blahs.

    p.s. Chloe S is a nightmare dresser.

  15. I am so still watching 24. Can't wait until husband gets back in town so I can rescue him from the DVR. Even when I know it will be ridiculous, that ticking clock gets my heart rate going.
I'm not feeling it so far on Idol, and am hoping Ellen brings some life back to Simon.
Have a severe case of the blahs as well. Ohio is just as gray as Illinois.

  16. It's time to head back to bed and pull the covers up. Unfortunately that won't work for either one of us, so if you find something that will please please please share with me. I hate gloomy Chicago winters! Right about now I'm willing to trade for the equally awful humid Chicago summer.

  17. Yeah, I'm still watching 24 too. I don't think I'll ever be able to stop, no matter what. Maybe if Kiefer leaves, but really? Why would he at this point?

    ReplyDelete
  18. YEAH 24, I have been waiting and have seen the first four hours!!! Can't wait until next week for more.
Wow, you think you will go to the closing ceremonies??
(Personal note: Got the truck too, facebook this evening with it's photo)

  19. Squee! If you have the chance to go to closing ceremonies DO IT!

  20. I hear you about the blahs! But the sun seems to be peeking out today! Yeah! I am literally giddy waiting for the Olympics! I love them, especially the winter! I can't wait!

  21. We can't see sun here, either. Blah city. Even the kids are blah. I was laying in bed this morning thinking "We need to go out and walk as a family and get some sun today." But no sun. Again. lol
24 is on our DVR, but we haven't watched it yet. I think we've missed a few seasons, I don't know how he is not with the governement anymore, lol.

  22. So glad my family left Chicago. The lack of sunshine would kill me. Tina Fey looks like she is wearing a chandelier.

  23. I think that you and my boyfriend's roommate are the only two people still watching. I just can't take it anymore. The last episodes are always a let down. Why doesn't Jack Bauer die? He's like made of Teflon of something.

  24. I think its the same time it is in Indianapolis...blahhhh time!!

  25. American Idol is enough to get me out of my winter blahs. And it doesn't hurt that the last couple of days have been in the low 60s! Unfortunately it isn't going to last.

  26. Toni looked amazing. And Ginnifer Goodwin's dress- I WANT IT. And Jen Aniston - very good. And Reese - very nice. Kate Hudson - OMG I WANT THAT ONE TOO!

Heidi Klum - cheapo Gunne Sax dress I wouldn't have worn to prom in 1985. And Nicole Kidman - WTH?

  27. Tis the season for blahs.

I have found a new obsession. The Bachelor. I KNOW! I'm late to the game. But the dynamics of the women have sucked me in.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I can not wait for the Winter Olympics! I even bought my two year old a USA sweatshirt and we're teaching him to say, "Go, go USA!"

I'm also looking forward to Netflix being available on the Wii. Because what I need is a reason to watch MORE TV.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I cannot wait for Lost. But I will be sad to see it end!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I am ALL THE FRICK over 24. Seriously. Jack Bauer + Freddy Prinz Jr. = come to momma. And Lost, dude, bring it. OH, and if you want gray/blah/what time is it skies, come on out to the Pacific Northwest.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The blahs... oh, the blahs! I have them too, though I can't call them 'winter'. So sad.. can't seem to get out of my 'summer' funk.

And yeah - Toni was smokin' What a fantastic dress.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Meanwhile, the sun doesn't know how to stop shining over here! It makes the skies pretty but the heat is horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ditto on the blahs. We've got the same weather. Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Can't wait for Lost either! And, just think .. you'll have Simon's NEW show the X-Factor to watch -- million times better than American Idol! Trust me!

PS I thought Ricky did all right! *ducking*
