16,000 Square Feet

One of the first places I lived in the city was a 600 square foot rental at $550 a month. It was a half a block away from this house. (I find it crazy how such a HUGE mansion is right next to tiny apartment rentals, it's part of the reason I love the city.)Once it was a single family home. Somewhere along the line, it became one of the "it" destinations for holding a party or reception. Yes, I had the privilege of attending not one, not two, but three parties at this AMAZING estate.About 10 girlfriends and I busted out bad prom dresses and sashes and attended a rocking Halloween party as the Miss America Beauty Pageant. We walked into the party doing the parade float wave. They actually had a casket filled with beverages. What a perfect backdrop this German Baroque Behemoth made for a Halloween party....and party we did.
You know I'm going here...don'cha? Yep...this has since been converted back into a single family home:O Can you imagine living in 16,000 square feet? (jaw dropping I know) I gotta say, I have no idea how much the home changed hands for, but I do know it was rehabbed to within an inch of it's life...It must be AMAZING to see.

Oddly, enough I haven't been invited to a party;P (Must be lost in the mail)

  1. I can't imagine living in 4,000 sf, let alone 16,000! I'll bet that house is AMAZING.

And I love the Beauty Pageant costume idea!

  2. Beautiful! Those parties must have been fun! Imagine, though, 16,000 sq. feet? Wow. I'd never stop running after my 22 month old... I'd be a size 6 in no time! ;)

  3. OMG, that is stunning. Though I don't like living in big houses, it creeps me out.

But I'd be more than happy to attend a party there ;-)

  5. Wow, what a gorgeous house. If I ever get invited to a party there, I'll bring you, I promise . . . if you will wear your prom dress.

  6. So gorgeous! If I lived there, I'd be traipsing through the rooms doing the parade float wave! I'd also have to have someone clean it for me because in all honesty, cleaning what we have already is taxing and not nearly as roomy!

I was wondering if you can do a New Year's header for me!

e-mail me at jillyou@verizon.net and let me know if you have any availability. I know this is a crazy time of year, maybe we'll shoot for a Valentine's/winter header instead!
