...the walrus said...to
take your Christmas decorations down.

The kiddos and I walked around the 'hood today and took pictures of houses who
haven't seen fit to take down their Holiday decorations.

It was actually
quite funny. Every time we saw one The Little Man would point and yell "
Christmas!" Made me chuckle:D

Then we went home and ate cupcakes:p
Have you taken down your Christmas decorations?
loading..
I just drove around E Town, north of you and laughed at that very thing
ReplyDeleteThey are some nice looking doors, but yeah, time to take the wreaths down. It probably takes all of 30 seconds to do.
ReplyDeleteI get it if people can't take them down - if they are too high up or covered in snow or they risk frostbite if they try and go untangle lights from their roof. Whatever - I'll give them until April. This is Canada. It's cold.
ReplyDeleteBUT.
A house in my neighbourhood still has their lights turned ON every single night.
What's up with THAT???? Unplug it, dude!
oh that is too funny!!! i have noticed several around us that apparently leave their christmas lights on the house year round! ugh.
ReplyDeleteI love that you walked the kids around and actually took pictures. Mine are down, for the record.
ReplyDeleteWell, now I'm feeling ashamed b/c I made gingerbread houses with my girls like 2 weeks ago. But I think you should show some leniency for any activity that keeps kids busy in the winter.
ReplyDeleteI am all for sweets and indoor activity...we won't take your picture and put it on the blog;)
ReplyDeleteMy MIL still has all of her lights up, but the wreaths are down. The cupcake looks delish.
ReplyDeleteThe husband's best friend and his wife . . . they still have their tree up.
ReplyDeleteA once living, chopped down, needle dropping tree. In March.
To me, that tops even the yards with Santa still riding his blow up Harley, or Frosty still waving away.
Maybe it's just been too cold to remove them. :)
ReplyDeleteMy shit was down and packed on New Year's Day. No lie.
ReplyDeleteOh ugh! We drove through my in-laws ritzy neighborhood last month and people still had Christmas trees prominently displayed in the front windows of their McMansions.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand to leave my stuff up past the end of December. It makes me feel like a slug. I am a little anal like that though.
ReplyDeleteI have a sudden urge to go make cupcakes. Thanks a lot.
I didn't have any up in the first place :)
ReplyDeleteThere is still one house in our neighborhood with Christmas lights on their tree trunks! Seriously?! It's March!
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few wreaths in my neighborhood and some yard stuff. We took our stuff down right around New Years. It's time for the Spring Decos to be brought out!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby takes the tree down and all inside decorations down on Christmas day though this year I talked him into leaving them until the next day. But I will say that our lights are still handing on the house we just don't turn them on.
ReplyDeleteWe pass a house on the way to school that still has reindeer in their yard...you know, the white ones that light up?
ReplyDeleteI guess we should be thankful they aren't lighting them at night, huh?
I don't know, what is worse, this house or the one that puts up orange lights at Halloween & leaves them up (& on) through Christmas.
lol
I took mine down on February 1st which was about 2 weeks later than all the LDS gals on my block. I think they are all on some kind of crazy craft/decorating schedule mandated by the church because they all put their stuff out at the exact same time....
ReplyDeleteseriously!!!
ReplyDeleteOurs were down Dec 26th!

ReplyDeleteOh, that's too much! My decorations are definitely gone ... although somehow my son found a tiny Christmas ball ornament yesterday, hmm....
ReplyDeleteToo funny! No Christmas decorations at our house. Although we have a number of neighbors who keep their lights up all year long.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I LOVE that you did this, it's awesome and hilarious!!!
ReplyDeleteI double, dog dare you to leave them little notes on their door reminding them that it's MARCH!!!
I LOVE that you did this. I am cracking up. This year...I had them down quickly. When Sugar was a baby...I had christmas lights on my house well into June. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's great! I am pretty meticulous about Christmas decorations, they come down the first week in January. But I have to admit the snowmen are still around. I think they are safe to leave up until I no longer see snow on the ground. So in Michigan that will be sometime in June :)
ReplyDeleteIf I, the Queen of Christmas Crazy, can take down our 8000 lights, 40 yard ornaments, and various wreaths and trees, then surely those people can stop for two seconds to throw away a dead wreath. Gah!
ReplyDeleteYep, but just as I drove to work today I tried to use my telepathy powers to tell my neighbors to take theirs down. ;)
ReplyDeleteMine come down on News years day! Wow hard to believe some still have theirs up. Love that you got he kids into it!
ReplyDeletewow
ReplyDeletepeople still have them up?
maybe its a weather thing too?
it's so freakin oddly hot here right now. nary a wreath in sight!
yeah, i'm thinkin' it's time.
ReplyDeletefunny thing, tho, i had a dream last night (seriously! no lie!) that i was decorating my house for the holidays.
which is funny, cuz i DON'T!
Does every house in your neighborhood have double doors like that?
ReplyDeleteI think I need to take my wreath down...oops. I never use the front door, so I never see it.
Wow...still up in March! My son would love that, though. He is still asking about Halloween decorations!!
ReplyDeleteMine? Was down before the new year if I recall correctly.
