And No Matter What Everyone Tells You...

The most touching speech of the Oscars came from Dustin Lance Black (best screenwriter Milk)

When I was 14, my best friend asked me to marry him at the eighth grade dance (he denies this, but a girl remembers her first proposal) When I was 28, he told me he was gay.

Four years later, he was fired from his job, and kicked out of his church (both of which he had been with for over 8 years) because he told his boss he was gay. He bravely picked himself up, and started over again. I would like to believe there will come a day, where he is free to love whomever he wants, and marry whomever he wants, and not be judged or fired for that.

I would like to think...

  5. My two brother's in law are gay. They often have to live a secret life as a straight men so that they can be employed. They are both Republicans and their gay community does not support this *difference* in them.

I'm anxious to see this movie!

  13. I don't understand why people feel the need to judge people so harshly simply because they've chosen a different path in life. Whatever happened to "Judge not lest ye be judged".
