Having Some Fun!

There are few places I would consider leaving The Big City for...Vail, is one place I have always thought I would love to live. I love me some Vail!Once a year, I come out here and have some bonding time with The Bro, and my roommate from college (Janet). I don't know what it is about skiing, but I become an uber-goober once I hit the mountain. I am telling you, I have been belting out bad music and laughing all day. When I say bad music, I am talking Copa Cabana as sung by Bob Dylan, or straight up Journey, and let's not forget Andy Gibb. It's not a party until I am belting out I just want to be your everything, both in Bee Gee voice and Bob Dylan voice;)What a day...we skiid all day. I am a pretty good skier, Bro and Janet are better than me, but I keep up. We skiid a fair amount of black diamonds. I am on some killer rentals (demos are the best). I am a firm believer in if the skis are good, then all I have to do is stay on them, and they will get me down the mountain:) So far...I'm staying on them! The biggest laugh of the day came from some of the absolutely frightening skiwear choices folks have made. I am talking bright neon orange jumpsuits straight out of my 80's nightmare. As my Bro put it..."it comes with batteries:P" Some outfits should really stay in the 80's...

I have decided that tom. we are going to take some pics of the crazy things people wear. Yep, it's the Ugliest Jacket on the Mountain Contest...brought to you by Nap Warden & Friends. You'll love it! Come back tom. for some pics:)

  5. Looks like you're having so much fun!!! And not worried about the kids a bit, are you? ;) I'm still laughing at "straight up Journey"! I have the Greatest Hits and frequently belt those out in my minivan. LOL

I'm impressed by your athletic prowess! I've never skiid before in my life. Not only do I despise snow/cold weather, but I think if I even attempted to ski, I'd be blogging from my hospital bed.

I can't WAIT for the Ugly Jacket contest!

  8. I wish that I was in Vail!

I'm from Colorado, but live in Philly now. All of those mountain towns are great. Even in the summer, without any snow, they're gorgeous.

If you can find a job there... GO, GO, GO!!!!

    I'm envious.

  9. So glad you're having a blast:) Yeah, I skiied a bit here and there years ago and had that neon colored attire...wouldn't be caught "dead" in it now, maybe that 80's flare is back on the slopes with a vengance! Keep staying on those skiis and having fun;)

  10. I am head-to-toe green with envy. Last weekend was the first time I went skiing on 5 years - before I was pregnant with Princess. And what did I do? Simply go up and down the bunny slope trying to teach my almost 4 year old.

    Jealousy, that me.

PS - Love the demo days. What skis are you using?

  14. Absolutely gorgeous! I've never been to Vail, and don't even like skiing (forced to ski every single winter growing up and screamed in terror on every slope), but still I'm entranced by your photos!
