Run Report...or not?

It's cold, it's icy, it's snowy...and I don't feel like running in it:P The guilt is killing me. I have been staying in shape. I swim two days a week and play tennis. I just totally fell out of the running regime after my marathon.

My coach has been sending emails. "Hey Warden, we're all meeting (here) at 7:15 for an 80 minute run!" Do you know how hard it is to pry myself from my bed when it's cold outside? Really hard! I know now is the time to get tough. Do I want to get tough? You tell me...'cause I'm not sure what I'm going to do:P

  1. You know very well there is no way in hell I would get out of a nice warm bed to run. I struggle to do it to eat, I certainly wouldn't do it so that I could torture myself! ;-)

  2. I wouldn't be able to do it, either! Then again, I only run when someone's chasing me. I so need to fix that.

  4. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

You're a VERY strong person mentally, and the only reason your marathon was not perfect is because it was TOO F***ING COLD TO have a marathon that day!!

Come on Warden! It's a mental game, and YOU are in the VERY ELITE group of people in the world who can get out there and do it.

I'm cheering for you. Even if it IS 10 below.

  5. I can barely get out of a nice warm bed to go get breakfast. Or go to the can. You, however, are not me. Up and at 'em.

  6. It's boring beyond belief, but when it's cold out I am running on the treadmill at the gym. Painfully boring. But I'm a winter weenie.

  7. I am in the same boat. In the summer I love to sweat for miles but winter is not my friend.

    You should do it though.

  10. It won't seem very cold after 80 minutes of running, right?

  12. It is so hard for me to willingly leave my house when it's cold and snowy and icy. You need to do it to inspire the rest of us. Or to confirm for us when you finish that it was cold and lousy and miserable.

  14. I HATE cold weather - my fridge is bare - literally not one scrap of bread- I sent my hubs out to the grocer last night at 9:30 to buy bread for school lunches for today! I have to go today - and i'm still in pjs!

  15. It's hard, I know, even without the snow!

  16. Sometimes you just need a little break so that you can come back stronger than ever. Too much training (so hard!) so close together can lead to burnout. It does for me anyway.
    Maybe after the holidays?

  17. WOW! Look at that snow! There is NO way I'd ever attempt to run in that. Of course, even if it were sunny I'd probably say that ;)

  18. I can't budge from my room to run when it's nice, so there's simply no way I would do it when it's nasty. I'm just impressed you ran a marathon at all.

  23. Warden,
Some words rarely heard in the sentences of us mear mortals. 80 minutes, cold, ice, snow and run.

You are the woman just for considering the run.

  25. I don't mind running in the cold, but the ice sucks. I have been running at the Y's track and using the treadmill. I still feel like I should try outside, but I don't want to fall and break a hip. Good luck! Just do it!!

  26. I have a tough time prying myself out of the warm house too. Maybe you could just do laps around the Christmas tree?

  27. Well, I'm a total slacker. No way would I get out and run in the cold. If you did it, KUDOS to you!

  28. I went and ran outside 2x last week. I've been taking a lifting class inside the gym too. I even have a treadmill in my garage, but that doesn't look too appeasing.

I would NEVER run in the snow, I don't know how you do it.
