When my son was a little over a year he threw my camera into the trash. Luckily, I thought to look through the garbage cans the day before trash day. There it was. Covered in coffee grounds.
Don't a lot of keys say "If found, please put in mailbox. Recipient will pay postage."???? I'm almost positive that hotel keys say this. And my college dorm key too.
I had one of those moments...turns out I'd left them on top of the washing machine. Luckily I do a load of laundry every 2.3 minutes so it wasn't too long until I found them.
Most logical place if you ask me!!!
