Wordless Wednesday

*Update*
I am letting you all know how things went with Jan's Mom. She was nice enough, but I don't see this turning into a friendship. First, I think the whole thing was just a bit weird to begin with. She gets to sing a long, comes over and sits next to us. I don't want to get on any "Mommy high horse" she was just in over her head. Her kiddos were all over the place and she couldn't keep track of them. I know it's hard to juggle two babies, I do it every day. Her kiddos were different with her there. Jan kept sitting on my lap instead of her Mom's. I gotta tell you, Miss Peach and The Little Man were less than happy about that. They kept giving me the "what's with other child sitting on Mommy's lap" look. I don't know if I passed her inspection, quite frankly, I don't really care. You all were right...I shoulda' worn the flame jeans!;)

Amazing cup. Well done. God bless.
ReplyDeleteWOnderful shot. I love it! Happy WW
ReplyDeletethat cup is too funny... and my guess is if you have to interview in order to be her "friend" she isn't the kind of friend to have
ReplyDeleteI need a cup like that! Our family noses are nothing to sneeze at, tee hee.
ReplyDeletenice ww. that is hilarious..and just what i need.. happy day!
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to comment on Jan's Mom since I have nothing nice to say.
ReplyDeleteThe cup, however, I can say all kinds of nice things about! I love it!
Very cool nose job. Hmm hope you get the other deal sorted out. I was never good at watching other people's kids...
ReplyDeleteOh, the awkward Let's-be-friends-because-we-both-have-kids play date. Ugh. Good try.
ReplyDelete(and where can I get a cup like that?)
I love that cup.
ReplyDeleteHappy WW !!!
Great cup! Too funny.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with Burgh. Jan's mom is a schmutz. And, not being able to control your kids is NOT okay.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the cup.
Love the cup...great pic:) Happy WW my friend and thanks for stopping by. Did you notice my cool new layout?? My blogger bud did if for me;)
ReplyDeleteFits nicely!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your two got over the jealousy :P
My WW @ Its Not a Weekend;Its a Lifestyle & Napaboaniya APAD
I hear you, sista'.
ReplyDeleteI have my own horror story. Go here to read about it. (If I was really good, I'd know how to link to there, now wouldn't I? http://3-to-get-ready.blogspot.com/2006/11/playgroup.html Hope that works.
Finding friends isn't easy. Good luck.
LOVE the nose job. And how WEIRD about Jan's mom. Ugh. Dating is easier!
ReplyDeleteCool pic.
ReplyDeleteI remember feeling like that too when I joined up in the playgroup the first time. It is weird to make friends in such a straight forward kinda way. We do it for the kids but there is always that pressure to get along with everyone automatically without really having that time to get acquainted.
Oops, and I forgot to tell you I have a little award for ya over at the old blog.
ReplyDeleteI so totally need a cup like that to carry around with me!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable.
ReplyDeleteSorry it didn't quite go so well, but really... to interview a friend? Well, that's just not in my scope of reality I guess.
Now THAT is funny. And clever! I'm so behind on blog readin from vacay all I can add is Jan's Mom is an @ss!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL - too funny! :)
ReplyDeleteawesome cup!
ReplyDeleteI am really sorry things didn't work out with Jan's mom.
ReplyDeleteLove. The. Cup.
The cup is so funny!
ReplyDeleteSorry the "interview" didn't go well. No not really, I think you knew it wouldn't!
The cup is just hysterical.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you find some mommy friends that you click with soon.
Very cool WW!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you'd be better friends with the nanny? ;) Seriously, I hear you! Why is it so tough to find mommy friends?
That is a funny cup!
ReplyDeleteThat is one great shot... so funny!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo. Don't love Jan's mom.
ReplyDeletelove the picture.. I can totally relate to meeting Mummy friends..it really is like dating * again* ugh just ugh.sorry to hear it didn't work so well. but her loss..
ReplyDeleteThat cup is hilarious! I know a few people that could use it in my family!
ReplyDeleteThat was weird with the mommy date thingy. I'd keep my distance. Doesn't sound like someone you'd want to spend time with. I'd rather spend time with the nanny!
Whoa, I just caught up and read the prior post. I won't comment more since I don't have a nanny...But,how very awkward.
ReplyDeleteLove that cup!
That is an incredible WW photo shot.
ReplyDeleteNanny raised children generally do act quite different with mom around and you being a mom who is active with her kids would be a big difference. Just my experience from my nanny years.
my nanny takes my kids over to other houses in the neighborhood sometimes for playdates. i gotta tell you, i'm much more comfortable knowing who the parents are.
ReplyDeleteJan's mom sounds NOTHING like me and i would never schedule an interview...but i do understand the concept of wanting to know where your kids are during the day.
that being said...she doesn't sound like someone you'd want your kids hanging around with.
I'm with everyone - love the cup. Maybe you should do interviews too and if no one is scared off then it's a go. Flame on!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI want that cup! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am not one for playdates and mommy's groups. It just always feels so forced. Maybe I am just antisocial, I don't know. I would rather a friendship happen more naturally.
Yep. Should have worn the flaming jeans!
I, too, love that cup! How very clever!!!
ReplyDeleteThe thing with Jan's Mom......WAY too much tension and work.
Sounds like it's not worth it. I know you want the kids to have friends, but having to stress over "interviewing" with the other moms....life is way too short for such nonsense.
They are the ones missing out on having such a nice friend as you!!
xoxo
Linda
I love that cup.
ReplyDeleteYour instinct is probably right about Jan's mom - if it feels awkward a friendship is not likely to bloom...
Why, that's a lovely nose. Hahaha :)
ReplyDeleteYou wore the flame jeans?
ReplyDeleteSeriously??
What a great cup - where did you find that??
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't spend another minute on the strange mommy interview thingie. I know that there are plenty of people out there who are much more down-to-earth, and they are waiting to get to know you!
Love the picture.
ReplyDeleteGlad that it went that way at the music group. I don't think she is the mommy for you.
Ugh. I really feel that friendship, especially in the beginning, shouldn't be so much work . . .
ReplyDeleteI love the advertising technique on the cup!
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, you totally should have worn the flame jeans.
