Two Things...

First...LOST. Yes, I'm a junkie. Couple things driving my crazy right now. One, Hurley when he was picked up by the cops was yelling "I'm part of the Oceanic six!". Did only six make it off the island? Two, am I the only one that has it in their heads that Jacob is Jack's Dad? I know they only give us a quick profile of him, but it looks like that actor! I know Jack's Dad is dead, but so is everyone else at one time or another...I just know they are going to jerk my chain around for eight episodes and then leave me totally hanging...and like a moth to a flame, I'll be watching...

Second...I took the kiddos to a free concert at the zoo this week. It was so surreal. This musician has carved out quite a nitch for himself playing an Old MacDonald type singer. You know, he does kiddo concerts and such. I am sitting there with all the nanny/Moms and I'm thinkin' "I know this guy". Seriously, I swear ten years ago he was in a rock band that we used to follow around the local bar scene. Flashback ten years I'm drunk in a bar rockin' out at midnight...Flashforward, he's dressed as Old Mac. it's 10:00am, I have two babies sittin' on my lap, and we are singin' The Firetruck song...The times they have a changed...

  1. I found a CD that provided me the best of both worlds.

I took the kids to see Curious George - The Movie. My 4 year old loved that movie. The 8 year old, well she called it "cute." I believe that is girls speak for...not so hot.

Well, I left the movie and all I could think about was the music. It was fantastic! Jack Johnson is a genius!

It was nirvana (the place/not the band...not that I don't like the band either)! Kids music that didn't suck!

If you haven't heard it yet, I highly recommend it. Check it out at amazon pure parenting joy.

  3. I am amazed too, how having kids has changed me and my tastes. That zoo concert sounded fun.

  4. Ok, Jacob DID look like Jack's dad! I also think it was Locke's eye in the peephole(Remember Ben was worried Locke was taking his place with Jacob?) Also wonder if the cabin is like a meeting place for the spirits. Crazy but so is this damn show!

Sounds like only 6 leave the island. Hurley tells Jack(in the flash forward) that he wants them to go back. Is "he" Jacob?

I was completely sucked back in tonight although I told myself I wouldn't be since there will be no answers this season. Oh, heard on the radio there are 40 new episodes promised before the series finale in 2010.

  7. Sounds like a fun trip to the zoo. I know what you mean about the differences 1998 and 2008! I can't believe I am the mom I am now.....

  8. What a moment that must have been at the zoo! I know I'm getting old when I look at kiddie musicians and think "that would be a good gig."

  9. I had to laugh out loud at the story of the zoo. I often wonder what happens in ones life to become a children's musician. It also reminded me of something that happened the other day, my five year old said out of the blue; listen mom, it's the new Foo Fighters. LOL when did my five year old start knowing more than me about new music???!!!

  12. Oh my, on the second point (cuz I'm a loser on the first) - I think that is what Oprah would call the FULL CIRCLE. How funny is THAT! Have a great weekend.

  13. Lost..OMG..it did make you wonder if only six make it off...I don't like the back to the future crap though...back and forth, back and forth..they totally misled us with the two hour premiere crap...what was the rewind for the first hour?

Nap..I bet you are right..Jacob is Jack's dad....how wierd is that? Who did Jack go to visit at the funeral home? I got interrupted, caught the end of that scene....

  15. I totally didn't catch that it looked like Jack's dad. I will have to go back and slo-mo it to check it out! But I did think that it was Locke's eye in the window. Ooh, it was good! But so many questions!

  16. Yeah I am "LOST" too. I hate how sloow that show goes and how much I want to just know what is going on. HURRY UP! Too many questions.

  17. That rocking Old McDonald guy cracked me up. If only there was a way to make sure...

  18. The poor guy. Maybe he has a really badass gig at night, and the zoo tour just pays the light bill.

I moved far away from where I went to bars in my 20s. Now, it seems like that was a really good idea. On the other hand, this guy has some built-in groupies now!

  19. "I just know they are going to jerk my chain around for eight episodes and then leave me totally hanging...and like a moth to a flame, I'll be watching..." That's why I had to stop. Now I watch several episodes at a time (DVD). I'm so darned impatient, but it doesn't stop me.

Isn't it amazing how things change??? When I went home this past weekend, car seat, baby, and diaper bag in back, we were driving down this main "drag" that we used to "cruise" at night to uh hum . . . "meet" other people. I was 16 and lame. Now kids just text each other. Gosh, that would've saved me some gas.

    I got somethin' for ya!

  20. I finally watched Lost this morning and now I'm not sure what I think. I love that things moved, but now I have SO many more questions than before! My newest theory is that it was Hurley that had died at the end of last season (that Jack visited).

You know, Old McDonald probably rakes in more cash doing kiddy shows than the guy would still playing rock. We parents are suckers for a few hours of entertainment.

  21. We JUST finished watching. I think only 6 make it off, and that's why they keep talking about having to go back. And that guy who came to see Hurley in the looney bin and offered to put him up in a nice place and then at the end asked, "Are they still alive?" was talking about the people still on the island.

Never thought about Jacob being John's dad. Interesting...

  22. I find it kinda scary on the musician's part. You've got a great family and grown up. He seems to have fallen from somewhere.

  23. hahahah What a thought. That's all I ever think about is time - seriously. all. the. time.

  24. i gave up on lost a few seasons ago, but now i am wondering if it is worth getting back into it??

that is pretty funny about the singer and your flashbacks !! i am currently watching the half time show and can name every tom petty song from the first chord. hubby was so impressed, i said YEA i had it once...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ah yes, the Tom Petty half time show. I was regailing everyone in the "Where was I when the song was popular" stories. Nasty things were said about age...I felt old.

  26. Lost is addictive! In one of the scenes, the chief of surgery is trying to get Jack to come to his office because he thinks he's drunk. Jack says, "get my father down here and we'll see who's drunker". Something like that, anyway. But, I'm assuming that this is Jack after the island. His dad would have already been dead. Help. I'll have to watch it all again.
