Spell it...

Me: "Miss Peach, what do you want to wear today?"
Miss P: "Flower shirt, flower shirt, flower shirt!!!"
Me: "Ok, flower shirt" (I dig through all the drawers, can't find the flower shirt)
Miss P: "Flower shirt, flower shirt, flower shirt, flower shirt, flower shirt, flower shirt, flower shirt, flower shirt........."
Me: (still digging)
Miss P: (see above)
Me: "Damn!"
Miss P: (running all over the house in her diaper and a pirate hat on) "Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn,............."

It is time to start spelling the swear words...

  2. You could try DANG, YO! Should make you laugh in the process as well. ;)

I gotta start watching my mouth, too. Curse like a sailor for the most part! (Though my blog is now an exercise in NOT cursing, since I know my 13 year old neice reads it.)

  3. Don't sweat it! My kids have repeated a few words before! I think it was their fathers bad mouth, cause I am so calm and docile!

  4. My daughter LIVES in her Blondie t-shirt. I know exactly what you were going through.

Damn doesn't count darling. It is just an expression. Now some of those OTHER words...

  5. Just tell her about that other Dam - the one that holds water - and then she won't be swearing - the word will have no more power than if she were simply saying "swimming pool".

  6. Oh that's funny. You could have said worse. Maybe you were both referring to DAM (as in bridge).

  13. Little ears...little ears...never know when they are listening. lol..too funny...I had that happen with four your old..so, when he would say a curse word, we started going around saying, "cheese-n-crackers"...to divert him from what he said, we would not laugh..although sometimes, his timing was impeccable, hard not to laugh, but we would strain to refrain, ignore the word, say, You mean...cheese n crackers..he would laugh, now that is all he says..
    Insane....let me tell ya.

  16. I love this post! Thanks for the nice words about my photoblog...hope you liked it.

I have 2 daughters, 4 and 8. When my first daughter was just learning how to talk, we had an incident that had both my wife and I doing the mental rewind...

We were eating out at the local Perkins Restuarant having a great time (the oldest one was always really good when we ate out...oh how times have changed) She was standing on my lap and we were playing.

Suddenly she stands really tall and points and yells "Truck, truck!" Let's just say she wasn't really good the 'tr' part...Daddy wondered if he let one slip while fixing something...nope...all was good...we were pretty sure there was no 'f' at the beginning...well pretty sure.
