Worst day ever...

My kiddos pretty much say that any time they don't get what they want:/

In this case, it actually was a pretty craptacular day. I should have known when I woke up in the middle of the night with an upset stomach and tossed and turned the entire night...that things were heading nowhere good.

I know I'm a big baby when I don't feel well, but single parenting while you are hunched over because your stomach hurts is just plain no fun:/ I did however manage to feed them breakfast, and get them to school in my sad sorry state.

I knew it was the darn mozzarella I ate last night in the pasta. How do you tell if mozzarella is bad??? It's obvious that I don't know. So I got home and took an hour and a half nap. Yes, that was delicious...even if I did have a dream that I kissed Michael Keaton. I mean...how random is that? Why Michael Keaton? We have been watching a lot of Toy Story 3, and he does do the voice of Ken...but still, random. Anyway, I woke up feeling much better, and I was ready to tackle some heavy duty blog design work.

Feeling good lasted about the time it took me to get down the stairs and turn on my computer. It. Just. Sat. There:/ Didn't start...no happy I'm awake Macbook Pro chime. Just a buzz...and nuthin' :(

Not today...pah-leeze not today. I packed everything up and hustled to the Genius Bar only to have the happy little Mac guy tell me..."Yeah, it's pretty much dead." *Head-Thud*

NO. NO. NO. This computer was supposed to last another year...One. More. Year (screaming and shaking my fist in the air as the camera pans out above me)

Well, at this point, I could either throw good money after bad to fix the old machine, or I could buy a new one.

I bought the new one. I'm not even going to tell you how much it was...it was ex. pen. sive.

You gotta remember, I'm on my computer up to 5 hours a day, running Photoshop, Illustrator, and the Internet the entire time. My computer is my office. I had to max it out, and soup it up.

I'm just a weirdo. I think most people actually like to spend money. Spending money for me is physically painful. It hurts. I am a saver. I pretty much always have been. Is that a Midwestern farmer thing?

The new bad boy will be ready tomorrow. I'm happy about having it...just bumming about the money:/

By now, I'm sure you are tired of reading my sad sorry tale of the day...rest assured it ended with an afternoon trip to the park in the 90 degree heat...and then a miserable, death march of a meltdown, drag home, while bystanders watched shaking there what a bad mommy she is heads...Good times.

I don't know why, but now that the kiddos are down, and the money has been spent, I keep repeating a line from One Fish, Two Fish:

"Today is gone, today is done.
Tomorrow is another one.
Every day from here to there.
Funny things are everywhere."

It's gotta be a better day tomorrow...no?
