I am exhausted...and it's only Monday:PThis is the year of The Little Man. Being the #2 child meant that Little Man has never had "Mommy time" of his own. Now that Miss Peach is in preschool, Little Man and I get to spend the day together.
We go to the zoo, we go to the park, we go to the museum. Whatever Little Man wants to do...we do.
I wish the year of The Little Man didn't correspond with him landing solidly in the terrible threes:O
He's such a mix of stubborn and sweet. He absolutely is having nothing to do with Daddy:/
"Only Mommy can change my diaper!"
"Only Mommy can make me dinner!"
"Only Mommy can give me a tubby!"
"Only Mommy can put my jammies on!"
I know this is a reaction to having all the "Mommy time", right? Gah...it's just exhausting:/
Yes. It IS exhausting! He's adorable, of course. So that helps :)

ReplyDeleteI soooo remember when my son went through that phase. Thing is he's 10 now and he seems to be regressing back to that phase. Will it ever end? Hang in there and know that we are all going through it with you. :)

A few years from now he'll be too cool to spend much time with Mom, so enjoy it now. At least, that's what I tell myself when the girls get that way.
ReplyDeleteThe only mommy phase is endearing but so frustrating too. All three of my kids have done it to some degree. (That picture is really cute!)
ReplyDeleteMy almost two year old has a major case of the mommies. He only wants me to put him down for nap and bedtime, only me to change his diaper, only me to comfort him when he wails in the middle of the night.

N. has this too, but seems to be getting out of it a little (or maybe I'm just dreaming?). She actually stayed more than two feet away from me at the playground yesterday! Now if I can just get her to let Daddy put her to bed without actually leaving the house...
