Me: "Little Man, don't you DARE go in that mud puddle!"Can you see the disappointment? Poor Little Man just froze:(
He wanted to play in the mud SO badly.
I could see the little wheels turning in his head...
and then...
Little Man: "Pleeeeeeeeeeeze:)"
Now, I froze:/
I mean, how can I resist that little face?
City kids...they get ripped off.
There's no mud for city kids.
There's no going outside without Mommy monitoring their every move.
He could see me slipping......his little feet crept closer into the mud...
...and I let him go.
All the Moms at the park watched in horror as The Little Man...gulp...got muddy:O
P.S. He enjoyed every minute of it:)
Little Man: "Mommy, do we have to go home? I want to stay in the mud!"

ReplyDeleteLove it! Boys + Mud = FUN!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story. You're a good mom. Why else would you give in and let him get muddy - though I think he might have done a lot more once he was in the mood.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a pretty awesome mud puddle.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this last picture. It is amazing. I don't see the harm in letting them play in the mud - they are boys! A little mess - but its so worth the smiles.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! And I find myself saying NO to mud too often. Mostly because it all ends up on my kitchen (and foyer and dining room floors and steps...) but I might have to give in before spring is over... :)
ReplyDeleteWhere is you upbringing....you used to play in the creek pouring water over the ponies and getting muddly.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the days in the corn field detasseling, and getting hosed down before you could come in the house.
Let the kiddos play in the mud, it's good "clean" fun.
Oh man, my kids could have done some serious damage in a puddle that size. Looks like he had fun. We have those same boots. I love that last picture!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know what? Sometimes it's okay to get a little dirty. I don't think I have ever let my kids just play in the mud, but WHY NOT! Next time, I may just let them go!
ReplyDeleteExcellent. I have the most lovely pictures of my children COATED in mud. Some of my favorite shots, without question.
ReplyDeleteOh, and we usually go on "puddle walks" right around now. We dress in ugly clothes and go LOOKING for mud. The kids love it. But you have to bring LOTS of extra towels!
ReplyDeleteOh, mud! I wonder when I lost the urge to jump right in? Thanks for the reminder of how joyful it can be. My kiddos say thanks, too. =>
ReplyDeleteLOVE that last pic!
ReplyDeleteA little mud is good for the immune system. LOL
ReplyDeleteya hafta left him play in the mud, mom!
ReplyDeleteHe had his boots and everything! There was no chance that kid was not getting in to that.
ReplyDeleteHow fun. I remember playing in the mud. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteYou are a AWESOME momma! Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise :-)
ReplyDeleteOh that last shot! Totally worth all the Spray N' Wash you're going to have to buy.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
oh how fun....both of you are better for it. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this. The story and the sentiment and the photos. :) And my middle guy has those same boots. :)

Love it! I don't let mine play in the mud enough. Well, maybe that's because all we have down here is sand but ye know what I mean, right?
ReplyDeleteOh how I loved playing in mud puddles when I was his age! Seriously, the ones on the street corner where the water pools. Super safe place to play right???
