Every Friday, I play tennis with three other ladies, and our coach, Mark. I missed because I was at Blissdom. Then, last week everyone canceled with travel plans:(
Then I got a text from Maureen: "I'm in town...still want to play?"
I texted back: "Heck yeah...I'll text Mark and let him know we're in!"
I texted Mark: "Hey, Maureen and I are in town...you in for tennis?"
He texted me: "Yep...see you there!"
So I texted him: "Woot!"
I got to tennis that day, and it turned out everyone's travel plans had been canceled so we had a full group with Coach Mark. When the lesson was over...
Mark looked at me and said: "Hey Cyn, I meant to ask you...What does "Woot" mean, was that a texto?"
I looked at him and said: "Woot...you know woot woot."
He looked at me like I was a martian and said: "?"
I asked the rest of the group and everyone gave me the "?" look.
Help me out folks...I'm not a martian am I? "woot woot" it means "yeah" or "right on" or "yay team"...right? I didn't just make this up...I know I didn't:/
On a completely unrelated note...Everyone turn towards Vancouver, and give a big wave to The Bro....(wave everyone..."Hi Bro.")
The Bro is working The Olympics, and he gave me a big finger wagging because I "wasn't blogging The Olympics". (Give me a break...so far at that time all that had happened was the opening ceremonies.)
Well...let's all give The Bro a big finger wagging for not getting me tickets to the closing ceremonies...(everyone..."finger wag")
Now...let's give him another finger wagging for not getting me tickets for The Emmy's...(everyone..."finger wag")
Now...let's tell The Bro he can make it up to me by working The Oscars and getting me tickets...(I'm not asking for too much here...am I;) )
Thank you Bro...that is all:)

You're right on with the "woot"! Unless, I, too, am a martian... Or maybe it's more of an internet thing???
ReplyDeleteWoot on! Apparently it's what the cool kids say.
ReplyDeletei get the woot, i usually do wahoo. your bro best get you up to vancouver......
ReplyDeleteYour "coolness" is in uncharted territory.
ReplyDeleteWoot!
ReplyDeleteYup, it makes sense to me.
Why the hell didn't I take your picture Thursday night? FAIL.
Your Woot! is right on target.
ReplyDeleteNone of them had ever heard "woot?" I think that's weird.
ReplyDeleteI know what woot is, and I am pretty lame-o according to my teens, lol.
ReplyDeleteI woot woot all the time.. learned it from my Aussie friends.
ReplyDeleteI think woot is a blogging term. At least that's where I see it all the time.
ReplyDeleteWoot is so totally a word. Totally.
ReplyDeleteWoot is a completely acceptable form of speech. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course you're not asking too much to get tickets to the Oscars. My goodness, after thoughtlessly ignoring his brotherly duties during the Olympics AND the Emmy's, I would say front row center is the LEAST he could do.
Woot = Word. Yep!
ReplyDeleteLately, I've traded my "Woot!" for "Holla!" But it's totally a word. (I bet you'll even hear it in someone's Oscar acceptance speech.)
ReplyDeleteI use "woot" all the time- including today on a FB post..lol!
ReplyDeleteMore Olympics!!! or you just get on a plane
ReplyDeleteOf course you're not a martian. They're just out of the loop :-)
ReplyDeleteI learned it from my ex husband haha. Woot!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with most of these people! You are not a martian and you used it totally correct :)
ReplyDeleteThis cracked me up. I responded "Woot!" last week to a friend who totally called me out on it. Must be a bloggy thing.
ReplyDeleteMaybe THEY are the martians?
ReplyDelete(cue Twilight Zone music...wait THEY probably don't know what the hell that is either)
There are people who don't know what Woot means? Now that is just strange. :)
