I think I'm gonna do it...
Truly, this has been on my mind for a few weeks now...
Do I feel like I have some unfinished business? Possibly...
Are there any changes I'm going to make this time around? Definitely...
First off...I can't believe The Chicago Marathon is full already! I can't believe 45,000 runners have already pulled the trigger on this! That said, I wasn't going to run Chicago this year. Quite frankly, it is too big. You never get out of the pack. Chicago has issues that they refuse to address (it's too early in October/they should run it at the end of Oct., it isn't run early enough in the morning/start time should be no later than 7am, and it's just too big/they really need to cap it at 30,000)
That said...I have my eye on a certain Midwest Marathon (keeping it secret right now). It is a point to point. Which, if you remember St George, is good if the wind is at your back...and really bad if the wind is in your face.
The biggest change I'm gonna make...music. I can't believe I trained all last summer without tunes. I am buying one of those tiny Ipod thingies...and loading it up with rockin' fun tunes. Seriously...what was I thinking on that?!?
This leads me to my final decision...Do I run with the crazies? God Lord they are fast! My Coach called me last night (I was buried in a blog design) I dodged the call...Should I run with them? I poured over my Run Reports from last summer...TON of work!
Whew...it is so much work...but I think I'm gonna do it...

ReplyDeleteMy brother just told me this past weekend that he's signing up for a double marathon in San Francisco (Marin) in August... Crazy!
That's great that you plan on running a marathon! I have trouble running from my living room to the fridge! Good Luck!!
ReplyDeleteI say run the marathon...skip the crazies.
ReplyDeleteI saw your comment at Living and Loving Every Minute of it and I came over to say hi! How cute is your name! Nap Warden! That is adorable!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your run. I can't run. Except to the fridge : ).
Go for it!! And enjoy the tunes!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! So easy for me to say since I'm not the one actually running...I am having a hard time gearing up to do Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred...
ReplyDeleteGo for it! I hope the Chicago Half marathon isn't full...I want to do that one. Running with music helps and with a group too.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely - I say give it a "go"!
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck!
Music is such a lifesaver when running/walking. I don't think I could live with out it.
ReplyDeleteHope you go for it.
you go! I'm so not a runner ;)
ReplyDeleteI just registered for a half marathon today. Did I mention the longest run I've ever been on is 9'ish miles? Yeah. Frankly, it's my own group of crazies that are keeping me motivated. Our group runs are 8 a.m. Sunday, which is REALLY CRAZY.
ReplyDeleteSo, anyway, if you decide you want to travel for your marathon, check out nodm.com, which is the half I'll be doing. The course looks unbelievably gorgeous. West Coast, represent.
You are insane, but we love you anyway! I say go for it if you have the energy.
ReplyDeleteDo it lady!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's your destiny....
Good luck!!!!! Crazy. But good luck!
