Snow Princess

I spent part of the day digging around the house trying to find Husband's ski wear. We have moved three times in the last four-ish years. Many things got packed in boxes, never to be seen again. Score, in the orange duffel bag in the basement closet...ski clothes!

I hauled it upstairs and waited for Husband to adore me for finding it:) It didn't take long for Miss Peach to get her little fuzzy paws into the duffel..."Mommy, I don't want to be a skier...I want to be a snowboarder!" Trouble...yes:P

OK, on a completely unrelated note, I want to pick your bloggy reading brains...When it comes to reading, which format do you like better? Dooce, or Confessions of a Pioneer Woman? I know these two blogs are the biggest of the big dogs, and I'm not asking you which one you like best. I am just curious which format you prefer in a blog...both these blogs have excellent content. Dooce, has a more convetional blog format post area, sidebar, sidebar. The Pioneer Woman is using the more magazine/ezine style. I just wonder if there is a preference to the reader...Thoughts?

    Peach is hysterical. All she needs is her Cinderella dress and she'll be all set for a day on the slopes. ;-)

    I actually liked the old Dooce format very much. It was simple, but easy to navigate.

    Well, since you asked for my opinion and all...

    I prefer dooce, especially since she redesigned it. Both are lovely, but I think dooce feel more accessible.

    That picture is awesome.

    I prefer Dooce. I like that it's easy to see what happened in chronological order. I feel like on Pioneer Woman it would be hard to find the latest things, and there are too many choices for where to go.

    That one's gonna be trouble, no doubt. Exceedingly cute trouble, but trouble lol.

    As for the blogs, to be honest if you're reading them in a reader it doesn't make much of a difference, they both look the same. I rarely click through to the full site, unless I'm entering one of PW's contests.

    She is too cute! She does look awfully serious about the snowboarding career!!

    My opinion is that unless you have several different channels, like Pioneer Woman does, I prefer a more traditional blog format.

    I prefer to read my blogs in Google Reader. You don't see (or get distracted by) the formatting.

    Also, you don't waste time going to sites that aren't updated. Any new content magically appears in your reader. It's like having your own personal newspaper.

    Very cute.

    I think both styles suit the author. But if I had to pick one I would say PW. I like how everything is right there at your finger tips. You don't have to navigate the site very much to get where you are going.

    I actually like both. I like that PW separates her posts into main topics. If someone just wants to read about her cooking then they don't have to wade through posts about photography or the Lodge. I happen to like all of the topics.

    I really like the traditional blog layout like on Dooce.com. I don't have much time to read all the blogs I want to in one day so I tend to gravitate more towards blogs that are laid out in a simple, sleek design. Don't make me go hunting through all of these boxes on your site to find your latest entry. For example, I used to read Mom Dot but then they went to that boxy design and now their site is just too busy and cluttered for me.

    I read via Google reader, so once I've added a site there, the format doesn't really matter much to me. The only thing about PioneerWoman is that if you only want to get her recipes, you can subscribe to just those and not everything else. Which could be good or bad, depending on your goal :)

    As far as the blogs go, I like both. Dooce's is a bit more personal looking and PW's is great if you have several sections of blogs you display from one page. As far as reader goes they look the same
