We have been reading a lot of Princess stories lately. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid...and for some odd reason, The Princess and the Pea.
Now, straight up, I don't get this one. It's not OK for the Queens' son to marry a girl who he has fallen in love with (in one night) until she proves she is high maintenance, because she can't sleep with the pea under 25 mattresses. OK? Miss Peach LOVES it. I read it over, and over, and over...You get the picture.
Today in the car on the way home...
Miss Peach: "Mommy peas are dangerous!"
Me: "What? What are you talking about?"
Miss Peach: "Peas hurt people. They are dangerous."
I don't think she quite gets the story...

I should have titled this Peach and the Giant Pea;)
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! That's so cute. My daughter liked The Paper Bag Princess.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. And of course, tell her that peas are very very dangerous.
ReplyDeleteWhy does the diva always get the guy?
ReplyDeleteHahahahah! She's so cute.
ReplyDeleteAnd that was one of my favorite stories growing up.
Too funny. I agree. Peas are dangerous and should never disgrace the dinner table. Ick!
ReplyDeleteI always liked that story too, although I'm not sure why. Perhaps because the play is so cute. ???
ReplyDeleteThat is funny. I think Peas are yucky. Maybe my Mom wouldn't have made me eat them if I had told her they were dangerous...
ReplyDeleteKids are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI've never gotten that story, either. Don't you think the pea would be squished by the time all those mattresses got piled up on top of it?!
ReplyDeletereally if you think about it......rarely do any of the fairy tales make sense. LOL
