Tiger by the Tail

Oh, running group was hard tonight! We ran a mile warm up. Then we did a half mile loop (with a hill in the middle). We did four halves with a recovery half between each. One fast, jog recovery times four. I am telling you...the hill kicked my a**! Then, just for a "bonus" we did six sprints across the field. For the record, it was the death of me:P Then we got to do the mile run home. All total, it was an hour and fifteen minutes of running. My half split time was 4:08. Very hard with a hill in the middle.
The good news in all this...I WAS NOT LAST!!! I was second to last:) There is a girl in the group who is exactly my age, and has qualified for Boston. I am on this girl like white on rice! I am on her tail the whole time...I think I drive her crazy, 'cause she can't shake me;) She is what I need to be to qualify, so I am on it. Let me tell you, it ain't easy. She is fast!
I don't run again with them until Saturday (12 miles). I hear the course is hilly (I suppose that shouldn't surprise me). Wish me luck...on the upside, swim day tom.!

  1. Maybe you should wear your swim cap running... you know to cut down on wind resistance or something.

  6. How do you condition yourself to run like that. I have started running, but I can only run for short little sprints at a time....then I have to walk. How long does it take to build up your endurance so you can run from the get go...I can't do it yet.

  7. Wow.

You're making my 30 minutes of cardio at the the gym feel very wimpy.

    Keep on it.
