Where to begin...where to begin? This movie (Dark Knight) rocked the hizzau!!! I just got home, so I am still reeling from it's awesomeness...I'm diving in, but as usual, any spoilers will be typed in white text. Highlight if you want to know...
First up...Heath Ledger. I truly am speechless. The most AMAZING performance I have seen all year! Truly, truly brilliant. When he looked across the table at Batman and said "You complete me." I. JUST. DIED! If he were to win a best supporting actor nod, it would be well deserved indeed!
Next...Aaron Eckhardt. Do guys get any hotter? I saw him running on the lakefront last summer while he was filming. I kid you not...I just wanted to lick his face:P I knew he was going to turn into Two Face by the end of this movie, and I still hoped against all hope that he wouldn't. I loved him! Wow, did the sh*t have to hit the fan in order for him to go bad! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY KILLED RACHEL DAWES!!! They killed Rachel Dawes!!!
Christian Bale...*sigh* He is so dreamy is almost hurts. I know he is going through some family troubles, but in his defense...I read his Mom was a circus clown? I think if your Mom is a clown, you have the right to family issues. He is the best Batman ever! The raspy voice really didn't bother me. Seriously what else can I say? Just too hot!Lastly, I sooooo love Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine in their supporting roles. They are so spot on. Not that I would expect anything less from them. When the guy shows up in Morgan F. office and says he figured out who Batman is and tries to blackmail him. Morgan F.'s response was priceless! ".....Well good luck with that." Loved it!I about died when they killed Commissioner Gordon! Then I about died when he came back! I loooove Gary Oldman. He is so fabulous, and I so buy him as C. Gordon. He was the uber actor of the eighties (remember him as Dracula?) and then he kind of vanished. I was so glad to see him in this role:)
They actually flipped an eighteen wheeler on Lasalle St.! That was not computer graphics. Soooo cool! Can I say that Chicago is Gotham City? What a great city...and I am not being biased here;) Tons of action...all over the city. The movie just never lets up.
Just go see it. Pay the babysitter and go. It is well worth the price of admission...now go!

I have been telling DH that I HAVE to see this movie! I absolutely LOVE Heath Ledger and am still so sad that he passed.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see it but I FEAR JOKER. I have to tell you, it bothers me somehow that this is Heath's last film - something so creepy and awful looking.
ReplyDeleteAnd, is it really dark and depressing? Are there horrible cruel things that I would hate? Cause I hate movies with horrible cruel things.
You just made my work day excruciatingly long. Why do you do this to me? Why? Can you not see the pain?
ReplyDeleteEnough with the guilt trip. I REALLY JUST WANT TO GO SEE THIS MOVIE!
(Although, I probably won't use words like dreamy and lick face in my review...just sayin')
Yum. Yum. Yum.
ReplyDeleteI have plans to see this one on Saturday! Mmmmm....
We went to the drive in since we don't have a sitter, hoping the kids would sleep (as they have in the past). Of course I spent the first 2/3 of the movie covering my preschooler's eyes and trying to distact him ("hey! over here!") so I think I missed a lot of the awesome even though I got the gist of everything. Agreed on Heath Ledger as the Joker, though. I didn't think anyone could reprise Jack Nicholson's crazy, but he did well.
ReplyDeleteWasn't it good! I loved Gary Oldman in it too, and Christian Bale... I can't even really describe his hotness. I was watching Maggie Gyllenhal on Colbert, and she was talking about how she was never really into comics, but that when they filmed that scene on the edge of the building where Batman swooped in to save her, she was totally into it! It made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI have been in love with CB for 17 years. I'm depressed about his recent arrest. BUT, I cannot wait to see him in this movie. Katie Holmes sucked and ruined the last one. I am SOOO excited about this one.
ReplyDeleteI give this Movie full of hottieess!!!! Yes I dream that Christian Bale would fly down hmmmm well????????? I love love love this movie it was long but the parts were fast the men were hot and the talent was awesome....
ReplyDeleteOOOO great editing LOL

ACK!!!! I want to go see it now!!! You have me convinced!
ReplyDeletei am dying to see this! It has been getting the most fabulousest reviews and since I think you're the bees knees so now I HAVE to see it.
ReplyDeleteI could lick Christian Bale. Seriously. He could eat cookies, crackers and chips in bed and I'd just sit there and watch him.
YUM!
Love the editing.

ReplyDeleteWow - that is an amazing endorsement for a movie! You actually sold me on seeing it! Thanks for the highlighted spoilers - I made sure I didn't click over them. :)

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to watch it now!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Batman fan, but it seems to have some great actors in this go-round. Glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED THIS MOVIE! It was so intense though that I have to go back and watch it again in a more relaxed state. I am sure there are things that I missed!
ReplyDeleteTo get the greatness of your review, I'll probably have to come back and read it after I see it so I can highlight those parts in white. Everyone I know who has seen it loves this movie.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED it too!!
ReplyDeleteI love Chicago.
ReplyDeleteBut. I bet you already knew that about me.
I just got all exciting reading this! I saw it a few weekends ago, and I LOVED it!!!!
ReplyDeleteHAVE. TO. SEE THIS!
ReplyDeleteAaron, OMG, you SAW him IRL? Lick ... ROFL! I LOVE him too...Christian Bale, ya, him too...
and agree with you 100% on all your guys. I'll fight ya for them LOL!
Dang, I read this a day or two ago but didn't have a chance to comment - hubby dragging me out the door - but I like how you put the spoilers in white. Although, being me, I had to highlight them. Sounds like a great show and while I'm really not into batman stuff at all I will end up seeing Ledger's last performance.
ReplyDeleteLOVED it as well! Joker's line to Batman was the BEST! But I so could have done without the disappering pencil, oh my God!
ReplyDeleteI have heard how brilliant Heath is in this role from EVRERYONE. Wasn't caring to see it before but now I MUST!
ReplyDeleteTh movie's done very well here in Australia too.
ReplyDeleteEasy to see why it's broken all those box-office records.
Can you come watch my kids so I can go??? (: My husband is DYING to see this and now, sigh, I AM TOO!
ReplyDeleteMy college kid saw the movie, but I haven't yet. I need to get Hubs to agree to a night out. Loved how you hid the spoilers... nicely done. :D
