Don't I Know You...?

Well, we have moved from Cinderella to The Little Mermaid in our house. Have you seen this one? It's cute and the Wicked Queen this time around is...Ursula. Bleck...she's to quote Miss Peach "ewy". I kid you not, I am not making this up. The team and I are boppin' down the street today, and we see a woman...wearing a purple shirt...and she looked exactly like Ursula! Now, Big City sidewalks are not wide, and we were walking right by this woman. Miss Peach points right at her and says "Mommy, is that the Wicked Queen!"...I died:O We buzzed by her as fast as humanly possible. I don't think she heard her, but I'm not sure. Let's just say Miss Peach isn't subtle. I am tellin' you the truth, she was a dead ringer for Ursula. How does a woman find themselves looking like a large...wicked...purple... octopus?!?

  1. I think it must be written in our DNA for everyone to mortally embarrass our parents when we're little.

  2. Ah, kids. They truly speak our unconscious thoughts...

  3. Aren't you glad you have a blog to record this proud moment and remember it to tell her in years to come?

  4. LOL! It sounds funny but I wouldn't have wanted to be you at that time.

I'm just waiting for the day when I 'die' after Aaron says something like that. I'm sure it will happen.

  5. There was a commercial on tv recently that featured a large black woman talking about health care or something or other.

I'm not sure whether it was a bad make up job, bad lighting for the cheap local commerical or a combination of the two, but as soon as Sarah saw it she screamed, "Look Mommy! It's Shrek!"

I turned to look at the tv and almost fell down laughing. It really did look like Shrek!

Unfortunately for you, you saw Ursula in public! You did the right thing...keep your head down and keep moving. That's all you can do when the little ones start talking in public!

  6. Love kids honesty, at least Miss Peach found a disney character to relate the lady too, b/c if it had been one of my kids they probably would have started crying in fear of the freaky witch.

  7. You've gotta love a kids honesty right? Haha!

Little Mermaid is my favorite but I think I'd be a little scared too if I saw a real life Ursula walking around!

  8. Wow. Really? That's crazy. I would never want to look like an octopus.

  9. That's nothing. As a small child I once pointed at a really large woman and said to my mom at top volume, "See Mom, you're not fat."

  10. I'm laughing so hard right now! Way to go Miss Peach! We all should learn such subtleties (sp?) hahahaha

Hey, I gave you some *sloppy wet kissies* today on my post for stopping by my WW...even though you didn't guess. *wink wink*

  11. I had a music teacher that looked just like Ursala. Luckily she was jolly, and not mean. :)

  12. Yes, you will find Ursula lurking in many random places. Ariel has been a favorite around here for about a year. ONE YEAR.

The soundtrack is fabulous. My daughter has some choreographed dance she does to it, because she knows the music to the movie! It's the best.

  13. This made me laugh. I used to work with a woman we called Ursala the sea urchin...ah, memories.

  14. Oh man, that is classic! Ursula is one ugly, creepy character :(

My daughter loves to point at women with glasses and gray hair passing by and say, "look mom, an OLD wumman!" *hides in nearest bush*

  15. I love the Little Mermaid.
I love even more, that Miss Peach sees such potential in people around her.
    That's fabulous :-)
Our kids always embarrass us, it's payback for our parents.

  16. Miss Peach could have been doing her a favor . . .

You want raw honesty, ask a child!

  17. When we were little, my parents told my brother and I not to pick our noses because we would end up with a "hog nose"... big mistake... While in a restaurant one evening, my brother spied a man with big nostrils and pointed and exclaimend "LOOK MOMMY!! THAT MAN HAS A HOG NOSE!!" I think I would take being called a wicked queen over being called a hog nose any day.

  18. LOL!!! I used to be obsessed with that movie myself. It's a good thing your little one saw her and not me. Way more embarrassing to come out of an adult's mouth!

  19. Oh man, LM is my absolute favourite. I would've had to ask the lady if I could take a photo with her (and hope she had no idea why). My son once pointed a lady out to me saying "Look Mom, she smokes!... smoking is for losers". Joys of parenting.
    Have a great weekend!

  20. My very favorite character in all the Disney movies is Ursula. I LOVE the song she sings about poor unfortunate souls. I haven't seen it in years, have to go hunt it up. I'm pretty sure on a bad hair day I could do a fair imitation... :-)

  21. I'm still scarred when Ursula did that little shimmy move in her song.
