A Couple Things...

Oh Andy...What happened? I told you I'd be here, rooting for you this season...and I am...here I am. I am not even holding it against you that you left Jimmy Connors. That said, what happened?!? I can't believe you lost in the first week of Wimbledon...I'm so bummed for you. I root, and root, and root for you. Your post match interview was just a bummer. Gah, what's it gonna take for you to break through and win another Grand Slam title? Don't worry, I'll be back...rooting for you at the US Open, even if you are marrying a 20 year old model:P

On the training front...I run 4 sometimes 5 days a week. Well, tomorrow I'm trying something new for my cross training...swimming:P So out of my element. I know I'm a dork, but I'm a little bit freaked about it! I know it's supposed to be so good for you. What do I need...goggles...a swim cap...I can get that at the health club, right? Well, wish me luck, 'cause I'm doin' it tom. Do I swim for a certain amount of laps...or for time? Gah!!!

Oh...and I don't know what is up lately...but I totally wish I was going to Blogher! (there I said it) But, there is just no way I can rationalize this in my budget. I mean I am spending a fortune on running this summer, and I know I'll do another ski trip in the fall...I am designing blogs like a fiend, but I just don't think it's in my budget:( Are you all going? Man, I want to go!

  1. Not going. Too many other things that I want/need to do . . . BUT, I am hearing rumblings of a bunch of bloggers getting together in October (during a smaller BlogHer conference) in D.C. perhaps.

I've been putting my jogging stroller to use. Man, that thing is kicking my butt!!! How is it going with the FAST group?? Good luck with the swim. And have fun squeezing into that swim cap :)

  2. Well, there's definitely no chance of me going to BlogHer LOL!

I used to swim regularly and found that counting laps was much more motivating than watching the clock. Never wore a swim cap though...

  3. Nope. I'm not going. I can't even bring myself to broach the subject with hubby. "Hey honey, while you are working your a$$ off all week for a million hours, and though you never get any time away or with your friends, would you mind if I spent a ton of money going to meet a bunch of other bloggers for a few days? Oh, and can you take off of work to watch the boys? Great." Doesn't sound right to me. Though I think it would be tons of fun to go.
Swimming. I used to love swimming laps. If you are just starting out I would do it for time because you have no idea how many laps you can do or how long it will take you. Start slow! It really is exhausting. And try and find a really good pair of goggles. Very important!
    Have fun!

  4. swimming is such great exercise.. Now that I am prego, I need to do it more.. Easier on the joints, however i have no advice as I am no swimmer.. and you are probalby already done by now.

I wish I was going to Blogher too, but I don't htink I am enough of a "blogger" to justify.

  5. I got mad at Andy when he dumped Mandy. But, it is sad to see him tanking so much lately.

I'm not going to BlogHer. Hubby thinks I spend enough on Blogging (and don't get any money in return) as it is. I can only imagine what he'd say if I said I wanted to spend a small fortune going to SF.

  7. Yes, I'm going, but mostly b/c it's so close to me. No airfare cost for me!

I would swim until you can't swim anymore, because you probably won't be able to do as much as you think you can (no offense - swimming is hard!). You probably want some goggles; cap is optional, but you might want one to keep your hair out of your face.
Maybe half the time that you can do running?

    Good luck!!

  8. It was in Chicago last year, and I just didn't know anything about BlogHer. I was fairly new to blogging... I assumed it would be close this year. I was wrong, obviously, and we are on vacation during BlogHer. :( At least I'll be occupied and I will just skip over any posts about what a great time everyone else is having...

  10. A few months ago I didn't even know anything about BlogHer. Now I wish I could go! Maybe one day I'll have the money to do it, and that will be cool.

  14. Swimming is supposed to be really good for you and help to lean you out! Funny, I have that pool but I rarely "swim". Mostly I just float and soak up the sun... again, I have no motivation.

  15. wow, very impressed with your work out routine. My only experience with swimming laps is taking my 6 year old out to the deep end and back...
