Well, you are just going to have to allow me to get sappy...Husband was at work all day today. This afternoon, I had both babies with poopy diapers just screaming after naptime. Talk about jumpin' right back into it! Well, I don't know where it came from, but in the middle of just about loosin' my mind, I started to sing...
Who knows how long I've loved you
you know I love you still
will I wait a lonely lifetime
if you want me to I will
Love you forever and forever
Love you forever still
Love you forever and forever
forever and ever I will...
You know, the Beatles song. The babies both stopped dead in their tracks and listened to me. It was like a scene in a movie. When I was done, Miss Peach said "I love you Mommy". *tear* Sometimes I think I know what I am doing:)
Then they went back to screaming...

LOL!
ReplyDeleteGood timing! For a bit any way.
Lately my girls love Jimmy Buffett and Bob Marley. It seems to soothe them and I get spring fever and a margarita craving (maybe a Red Stripe, too.)
I love that song! And hey...whatever works!!
ReplyDeleteI have an Alison Kraus CD where she does a cover of that song. My kids love it!
ReplyDeleteI live for those moments.
Cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd those moments are why we had the little demons to begin with....
ReplyDeleteOh, the eye of the storm. Sometimes that is all you need to get through the rest of the day.
ReplyDeleteAnd they always go back to screaming.
ReplyDeleteAww..those fleeting moments...at least it got their attention..if only for a second or two...
ReplyDeleteWelcome Back! kids have the darnest ways of letting you know they missed you:)
ReplyDeleteAwww...
ReplyDeleteSinging or whispering always gets my kids' attention...but only for a few minutes. Then, like you said, they go back to screaming.
ReplyDeleteAwww! Too cute. I often start to sing or whisper when I'm trying to get my sons attention, works better than yelling. LOL
ReplyDeleteNothing like the old bands. Who would not stop crying to listen? Well, maybe if I was singing..I am tone deaf!
ReplyDeleteMy son loved James Taylor when he was a baby. Soothed him right away.
How sweet! *sniff* Moments like that make the rest tolerable.
ReplyDeleteThat is sooo sweet!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I sing a new song Princess just looks at me in awe; "Wow mommy, you know a LOT of songs"
She's so cute!
How adorable. Get sappy girl, it's okay.
Love the heart header!! So cute!
Awe. But it was just long enough to grab your wits, wasn't it? Well done!
ReplyDeleteYep, what a perfect example of those rough days. There is usually one bright spot you can catch and use to ride the wave.
ReplyDeleteGreat song!
You are DEFINITELY know what you're doing NW. That was so sweet (and well played on Ms. Peach's part I might add).
ReplyDeleteDude. Welcome back from the ski trip. I'm so envious.
AWWw. That's wonderful! I wish I could find a magic song. Even if it only buys me a minute
ReplyDeleteOh I love that song. It makes me almost cry everytime I hear it...it must have something to do with the whole Affair to Remember thing which makes me cry just thinking about it...OMG, I got to go get a grip.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile. Sometimes....we get it right. :)
ReplyDeletesorry I have been MIA...life is keeping me super busy...and grumpy.
Oh, adorable. They DO love you . . . they really, really do!
ReplyDeleteMaybe more Beatles songs are in your near future?
ReplyDeleteThat was sweet! And of course they went back to screaming, they always do!
ReplyDeleteThat is so very sweet!
ReplyDeleteI may have just found a new lullaby.
ReplyDelete*sigh*
It's too bad we can't stop the screaming. But it's nice to get a break from it.
