I Gotta Get a Grip!

Seriously, I don't ever get sick of Sex and the City. I watch the reruns on TBS every night. Husband must think I'm crazy. I love Mr. Big. Cris Noth is my kind of man. I love suit, perfect hair guy...I married suit, perfect hair guy! So here I am at 10:30 at night, burning up the Photoshop, and watching Sex and the City. I just so relate to it...When I was single girl, I used to run with this girl named Jen. She would be Samantha, only not as career impressive. I swear, every guy she dated (had sex with) had a name and a quirk. She "broke up" with me when I got engaged. It was like I was leaving the single girls club, and she couldn't handle it. Sadly enough, she is still single and living in the same studio apartment she had in her 20's, only now she's 40. So weird how our lives march on, with or without certain people in it. So am I the only one, what show do you watch over, and over, and over, and over....

  1. I'm an Office junkie. And Friends. And Sopranos. I know, weird mix. I've also grown to like Nip-Tuck.

  3. Yes, I am also NUTSO about that show! And Friends and Seinfeld. I literally can watch them all the time and never ever get sick of them. I never saw Sex and the City on HBO so I really want to buy the dvds and see the full uncut versions. Problem is, I really can't afford to buy them all and I can't pick which season was the best. Any suggestions?

Funny thing about your friend. I had a friend, an absolute BEST friend who literally broke up with me when I got serious with my now husband. She also started changing at that point.

She was always very good, morally, but at the end, she started sleeping with/dating her boss who was married with FOUR kids (some little ones). She thought that was OK, because, hell, he had the most beautiful green BMW and he got her tickets to the world series that year! I had a very hard time listening to her stories.

She was also 4 years older than me (pushing late 30's at the time) and I just think it was a crazy jealous single girl thing. She hated that I found a normal guy and was on the way to marriage. I do often wonder where she is, what she is doing, whether she ever married and whether she is the same. I do miss my old friendship with her.

  4. For me, it's Friends. I have them all on DVD and watch them when nothing else is on.

Would you believe I've never seen Sex and the City? I am planning to check out Lipstick Jungle this week.

  5. I love Scrubs and watch at least one rerun a day. Yes, it's SO mature, but I think it is hilarious and I love it. I love Friends too of course. I think Everybody Loves Raymond is fantastic - I laugh every time. Dorky, but if you've ever been in a family...you get that show.

  8. I love Sex in the City! I posted a link to the movie trailer yesterday. The funny thing is I never saw it on HBO (we have cable, but not HBO.) Any way, when I was on maternity leave with my second daughter I lived for watching SITC. I'm surprised her first words weren't "Samantha" or "Minolos!"

I love Chris Noth/Mr. Big, too. I never could get into Mikhail's character at all.

I think for me I just loved the whole friendship aspect of it and their honesty about relationships. The writing was excellent!

  14. It used to be Friends, but now that I have seen every episode at least 6 times, I have moved on to Scrubs - as inane as some of the humor is, it is one of the few medical-themed shows out there that even comes close to capturing the reality that is life in a hospital.

  15. I'm with you on Sex and the City. Mr. Big is just so darn irresistable.

I also watch Sopranos anytime it's on. I've seen every episode (of both shows) and I just can't stop myself from watching them whenever they're on.

  20. I got the box set for my bday. I need to watch it, I didn't see the last three seasons. I guess now is a perfect time seeing as there's hardly anything on tv!

  21. I'm with you on this one. Sex and the City! I started watching it after a few seasons and was so bummed when it ended. I'm looking forward to the film, though it just won't be the same. There is the new Lipstick Jungle, but I can't imagine it being as good (on regular TV and all). We'll see.

I also get stuck watching Friends and Seinfeld--the old reliable standbys.

  24. I never saw the show when it was actually running on HBO. I first started watching when the reruns aired. I love it. It isn't all the crazy guys and sex and stuff. For me it is the amazing friendships that the four women have. I am so jealous. And yes, I do watch it over and over.
