First, I'd Like to Thank My Mom...

The Warden house has been hit...by the wicked flu that has been going around. Husband is out of town, and thank goodness Mom came up for the weekend. I spent the majority of yesterday laying on the bathroom floor, while Mom cleaned up after two throwing up babies:( I don't know what I would have done without her, so to my Mom, I would like to say thank you:)

Next up, I had fully intended to have a complete Oscar fashion round up, but I was way to sick to do it. Also, quite frankly, I thought the fashion was kind of safe and boring. That being said, I do have a best and a worst dressed according to me, from my throw up induced haze...

Worst dressed...Really Tilda Swinton, really?!? This is the best you could do? Could you have at least broke out the lipstick? It is the Oscars. I just don't get this at all, it's bulky, it's heavy, her faced is completely washed out. At least, put the bracelet on the other arm to balance yourself out. Really? I just don't get it...get a stylist. I also, in the worst category have to ask, what is up with Daniel Day Lewis' hair? Just puttin' it out there...

Best dressed...Come on...Helen Mirren rocked the red carpet! This woman is 62 and she easily worked it with the young starlets. I realize the Katherine Heigle looked fab, and so did Keri Russel, but they didn't compare to how perfectly put together Helen M. is...Well done!

Now, I am going back to bed...

  2. I hope you and the kids are feeling better soon. Your Mom rocks for helping out (I probably would have taken one look at you and ran the other way--me and puke are not on friendly terms).

  3. Some blogger referred to TIlda as Eric Stolz twin. And you know? That was kind of funny.

So sorry you've been feeling like death warmed over. Your mom is awesome for helping you out. Hope you and the kiddos are feeling better soon.

Stomach flu is the WORST and I say this having just gotten over regular flu. I'm just glad there was no barfing involved!

p.s. I agree with you on the Oscar worst/best dressed...totally.

  6. Yes! Helen Mirren was stunning! I LOVED her dress! It was also the best shade of red. The others were way too bright.

And Tilda Swinton? It looks like someone ripped her sleeve off before she left the house and she just said f*ck it.

  9. Seriously if I look that good at 62 you are going to have to force me to wear clothes. Cause she is one smokin' 60 year old.

  10. So wonderful that your mom was able to help. My worst fear is being sick while the kids are and having no help. She definitely deserves an award. Maybe a dress like Helen M.'s.

  12. I hope you and the kids are feeling better soon.

All I can say about Tilda is that I sure hope she was comfortable because that's the only reason to go to the Oscars wearing less make-up than I do.

  15. Maybe it was one of the rejects from the costume department of the Chronicles of Narnia. She wore some awful stuff in that movie too!
Hope you get to feeling better, glad your mom is with you.
