13 TV Show Themes I Can Sing...

My Mom heard something on talk radio about how TV Show don't have theme songs anymore. I guess that's kinda true...I mean, Friends had a theme song, but I really can't think of any other recent shows with theme songs. That said, here are 13 tv show themes that I know all the words to. Good luck gettin' these out of your head!

1) The Facts of Life-"You take the good, you take the bad, you take 'em both and there you have...The facts of life, the facts of life......
2) Happy Days-"Sunday Monday Happy Days...Tuesday Wednesday Happy Days..."
3) Laverne & Shirley-"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,Schlimiel, schlimazel, hasenpfeffer, incorporated...We're gonna do it!"
4) Gilligan's Island-"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...A tale of a fate boat trip..."
5) The Love Boat-"Love, exciting and new Come Aboard. We're expecting you. Love, life's sweetest reward. Let it flow, it floats back to you."
6) The Adam's Family-"They're creepy and they're kooky, Mysterious and spooky, They're all together ooky, The Addams Family"
7) Family Ties-"I bet we been together for a million years, And I bet we'll be together for a million more. Oh, It's like I started breathing on the night we kissed, And I can't remember what I ever did before. What would we do baby, Without Us? What would we do baby, Without Us?"
8) The Beverly Hillbillies-"Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed, Then one day he was shootin at some food, And up through the ground came a bubblin crude."
9) Fame-"Fame! I'm gonna live forever. I'm gonna learn how to fly, High! I feel it coming together, People will see me and cry Fame!"
10) It's Gary Shandling's Show-"This is the theme to Garry's Show, The theme to Garry's show. Garry called me up and asked if I would right his theme song."
11) Gimmie a Break-"Gimme a break I sure deserve it It's time I made it to the top. Gimme a break I’m looking forward Get behind me pull out every stop."
12) WKRP in Cincinnati-"Baby, if you've ever wondered, Wondered whatever became of me, I'm living on the air in Cincinnati, Cincinnati, WKRP."
13) Cheers-"Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot."

Sad to say, I could have gone on and on...Why is all this useless information rattling around in my brain?!? Seriously, is anyone ever going to ask me, "Hey, what are the lyrics to The Love Boat?" I don't think so! What did I miss? What rattles around in your brain? Dump it here!

  1. Eight is Enough...to fill our lives with love.
WKRP in Cincinatti...we're living on the air in Cincinatti...Cincinatti WKRP.

I could go on and on too. I guess I watched a lot of tv as a kid ;)

  2. I think this is because shows don't have the montage of who is in the shows anymore. Instead their names just scroll across the bottom while the show is one. Remeber Family Ties how it had the family pictures. I loved that. Or the Cosby show with its crazy dancing. Man, good stuff.

  3. Um, now that I read your post, nearly all those songs will rattle around in my brain . . . along with "The Brady Bunch, The Brady Bunch . . ."

At least it is better than the brain-numbing tunes of J's toys.

  4. Most of that is rattling around in my brain too - I can sing you most of them! Too funny - we are a bunch of losers - aren't we!? No - it's fun and I can't tell you how many parties I've been to where this very thing comes up and lots of us sit around singing these fun jingles from all those great shows. Take care. Kellan

  17. Yes, those are the shows of my youth! I remember every one, except Gary Shandling. Was that on cable? Yeah, we were the family with FOUR channels, yes four and ONLY four (abc, cbs, nbc, pbs) until I moved away after college.

I LOVE those shows. I remember Tuesday night being my favorite! Happy Days then Laverne and Shirley. Of course, there was NO way my mom would let me continue with the Tuesday night line-up, No Three's Company for us! Way too suggestive! Isn't that funny? That show is so tame compared to today's shows, yet it was such a big thing during its time.

  18. Ah … perhaps useless, but they do bring back memories of a positive kind and THAT serves us well. Thanks for sharing.
    Hugs and blessings,

  45. Since I stopped homeschooling I swear my brain died. I used to have it all together (and know where it was!) but now I think from lack of use there isn't anything rattling up there. I even forget where I put my name on occasion. It's a sad, sad state.
