Movin' On Up...err Out!
All right, some of you may know...We are buying a new place! Yay! Right? Well, yes...yay. Then there is this whole move thing to deal with...boo. I have been busy dealing with closing paperwork, booking movers, changing address, cable, phone...then there's the whole packing thing...argggg! Don't even get me started. Am I supposed to be shopping for the holidays? Cause it ain't happenin', at all. We have moved twice since we sold our previous home two and a half years ago, and each time I have made major contributions to the Salvation Army. I am working on becoming a minimalist...It's exciting to own our own place again, but there is no way around it, moving is stressful business. Lump on the holidays, and I think I am going to need a drink, no...a shot...wait, make that a whole bottle, whatever you got...now!!!

Bartender, pour the woman a stiff one. I'm with you. I get such great tax breaks when we move for the amount of purge that occurs. Then, how does it all start to accumulate after about 20 seconds in the new place?
ReplyDeleteMoving is VERY stressful..where are you guys moving...city or burbies?? :)

ReplyDeleteFree rent while we go to school. Pretty darn sickening.

Goodluck with moving! I have moved several times in my lifetime, including 2 international relocation. Thank God for salvation armies.
ReplyDeleteIf a little drink will perk you up, then have one! :-)
Oh I feel your pain. I have been married almost 17 years. During that time w8e have moved 9 times. SC/SC/CT/GA/GA/NC/SC/SC/MN. And each time we manage to clean out and give away. Its looking a little cluttered around here. Its been almost 2 years so yeah, we should be moving any day now LOL.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck!
Oh Bradley...You must know I am not leaving the city! We are moving about 5 blocks closer to downtown than we already are!
ReplyDeleteUgh! Moving...exciting but I wish somebody else could do all the packing and organizing.
ReplyDeleteWe had to move two weeks before our son was born and then again when he was about 4 months. It was crazy!
Yes I have to agree this IS a tough time of year to move but you can do it :)
ReplyDeleteMoving is so stressful....that's why I stay where I am...
ReplyDeleteI hate moving! It's the worst. But congrats on the new place!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you need a friend, Jack is his name...lol...poor thing. I don't envy you....Man, moving during the holidays. No wonder you are stressed. Congratulations on the new place...do you think you will be moved and settled by Christmas?
ReplyDeleteMoving can be nuts. I really feel for you!!! Hopefully it won't be as bad as you think...think positive (as you take a swig of bottle in hand : )
ReplyDeleteI'll drink with you! What'cha drinkin'?
ReplyDeleteAs for the moving: Very Stressful. I hate it.. but I do love becoming minimalistic after one.
Good luck.. Wish I could help ya out in some way.
Oh yuck! Moving is no fun when it's not "just you" anymore. I remember when I was in college, just piling all my crap into my Camery and jetting off to my next "residential situation"... I imagine it's not going to be that easy every again...
ReplyDeleteI'll drink with you too, Nap Warden!
Yes, moving is stressful. Good luck and congratulations. I hope it goes smoothly :)
ReplyDeleteYes, ma'am,
ReplyDeleteAllow this Australian non-drinker (yes, that's a contradiction in terms!) to be your bartender.
Great news about the move - very exciting. And being a minimalist is good ....
I'll come round and help.
Now, drink up, ma'am!!
We moved so many times in the first few years of our marriage, that my husband says we are NEVER moving again. I doubt that is the case but, oy, I feel for you, sister.
ReplyDeleteHolidays + Moving = Stress²
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that you get to dump all that clutter (woo hoo) and get a cool new house!
I hope you get the chance to stay in this new home for many years to come and that you are very happy. I only like to move when it has been about 4 years. I don't stay put well after 4 years. I think I have gypsy blood. I finally passed along the, "you make me smile" award to gave me months ago, thanks again.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! That sounds really exciting! I hope it all works out seemlessly.
ReplyDelete-HH
That would be stressful, but also wonderful - congratulations on your new home!! Take care and see you soon. Kellan
ReplyDeleteGod i HATE moving...
ReplyDeleteour last move was out of state, so we had to worry about all our crap getting here and yadda yadda yadda..

Damn. When are you moving?? That is hard, right in the middle of the holidays. Lots of luck, and strong drink.
