Wedding Dress & the City

If you have kept up with me, you are aware of my obscure fashion design background. If not, just go with me... How many of you were/are Sex & the City fans/junkies? Me (raising my hand), definitely! I loved Carrie Bradshaw, I think I wanted to be a Charlotte, but I was more like a Carrie. The shoes, oh the shoes! Yes, I wish I could have afforded, and pulled off even half of what our Miss Bradshaw wore. Patricia Field (costume designer) truly amazing, loved it all! So when the Sex & the City Movie started shooting...I'm all over it. I miss the girls and will be happy to revisit them and their wardrobes. Right? Then I see this....I'm not diggin' it! Now I am not doing any plot spoiling, for all we know this could be a dream sequence. Judging by the fit of the dress, and the green feather in her hair, I would guess a nightmare...I don't know, am I being to hard on Miss Bradshaw? The fabric looks lovely, but I just can't wrap my head around a dress that does this (see above) to her chest! We can do better people...It's just not working for me, and it's stuck in my brain like a thorn. What do you think? I need some opinions....

  1. Oh Carrie! Why have you forsaken us?

I love love love that show, such an escape from the doldrums of my own hum-drum life here in Iowa. The men, the city, the clothes...I just can't wait for the film!

On second thought- I don't care what you wear Carrie-- just be there.

    :)

(disclaimer: I am aware of my unhealthy attachment to both the show and the characters of Sex and the City. I am recieving help.)

  6. Horrified in the City. That is some hideous hideousness-- even for Ms. Carrie Bradshaw. Some of the outfits she put on over the years had some funk, but this is just awful.

  7. Yeah, it's wretched. Seriously, I've never LOVED Carrie's fashion, but this is deplorable.

  12. Will you still be my friend if I admit I never watched a single episode of Sex in the City? Ditto the Sopranos?

  18. Realizing your setting will help (sea shore weddings have a totally different dress code to chapel weddings!), yet set aside the effort to see a few pictures and see what requests to you. New Arrivals Clothes

  19. Hey, that's nice to read about this post but I think I would like to tell you about the online services which plan weddings for people. Likewise, I needed some help with choosing best wedding photographer for my wedding and I think they will help me with planning my wedding services.
