Stay-at-home mother's work worth $138,095 a year

NEW YORK (Reuters) - If the typical stay-at-home mother in the United States were paid for her work as a housekeeper, cook and psychologist among other roles, she would earn $138,095 a year, according to research released on Wednesday.

The typical mother puts in a 92-hour work week, it said, working 40 hours at base pay and 52 hours overtime.

Just a little FYI for anyone paying attention.....

  1. The research is a joke by any meaningful standards.

I believe that being a stay-at-home parent is an incredible job and one at the top of my list of things I wish I could do if I could make ends-meet while doing it. Frankly, I don't think you can put a price tag on the job...

...but as for Salary.Com's methodology - it's hardly "real."

    Stay-At-Home-Moms Worth $130,000???
