Happy Thanksgiving!

Going downstate for Turkey Day... Three adults, two toddlers, one dog in a car for 5 hours...Wish us luck, and have a great holiday!

Ahhh the Holidays

Typically, we go somewhere else for Thanksgiving (usually Husband's side of the family). That however does not stop Husband from buying and cooking a big turkey at our house. We then eat turkey sandwiches for a week (I am not complaining).
We moved into our townhome almost a year ago. The folks who owned this townhome before us did a little pimping in the kitchen arena (that is about 10 years old, most warranties have expired on major appliances). Apparently a Dacor stove is the goods. What do I know? This thing has a digital typepad for temp. control. Stupid thing about this pad? It is heat sensitive! Don't even get me started on why a stove has a temp. gauge that will "eventually short out from heat". That's brilliant! Long story short...$100 later, stove guy tells me it's going to cost $1200 to fix this stove! (replace the heat sensative pad with another heat sensitive pad) Ummmm...no thank you! I need to buy a new stove, but the burners work so, I've been getting by. Cue the biggest cooking holiday of the year...

Me: "Husband, I know you like to buy a turkey for us, but...let's skip it this year since we don't have a working stove."
Husband: "Too late."

Great, now I have a huge bird coming (he orders them from the butcher, it's coming today) and no stove to cook it in:P I suppose I need to go to Home Depot and buy a stove...right? I am so clueless on appliances. Seriously, I think I'd opt for torture over appliance shopping. Someone shoot me now...Anyone need an uncooked bird???

Happy Thanksgiving Maytee!

Well we're home...After driving about an hour and forty five minutes to Husband's parents house for dinner and then back home, we finally got the kiddos down to bed. That is a long day my friends. I don't know that any kiddo does well with that much car time. It's just a lot of car time. I never know how to dress everyone for holiday stuff. Truth be told, I don't really buy "dress" clothes for the babies. Things just become filthy immediately. I didn't blog Halloween for the kiddos, it got a bit ridiculous. I don't know why, but Miss Peach refused to wear her costume. Instead, she insisted on carrying this years, and last years costumes on hangers to trick or treat. We looked beyond silly. Can you guess where I'm going with this? You got it, this morning before we headed out for the holiday with Husband's family, Miss Peach decides/insists that today, she will wear the pirate costume. Yes my dear blogging community, my daughter went to Thanksgiving dinner dressed as a Pirate...Whata' ya gonna do? Pirate it is...Definitely not Norman Rockwell...How was your Thanksgiving?
