Patience

Ugh...Long story short, our refrigerator broke last Wed. The repairman came on Thursday "If I were you, I'd buy a new one." Well, it took about a day to figure out that no other fridge fits in the limited space in our kitchen (except a European one that cost $4,000 and had curbside delivery/no installation...thanks for nothing:P) So, I call fridge guy back and beg him to fix the only fridge that fits (the one that is there now). "OK" says the fridge guy "It will take 3-4 business days for the part to come in." Hopefully, it will be fixed on Thursday (fingers crossed).

Do you know how hard it is to live without a refrigerator and freezer (oh yeah, the motor that runs the fridge also runs the freezer...thanks for nothing Sub Zero). I think it takes more patience than I have...I am hoping if Smokey can sit through Miss Peach draping him in tulle and toilet paper, maybe I can make it through the next four days...maybe???

  3. And of course this couldn't happen in, say, January when it would have been cold enough to just put food outside in boxes.

  6. That's the sort of thing that I like to turn into, "Honey, we need to remodel the kitchen." I am insane, yes, I am.

    Poor kitty!

  9. Oh no! That is nuts. I can kind of imagine how nuts that is. When we were redoing our kitchen we didn't have a sink for a week (and no bathroom on the first floor). You don't realize how much you use a sink until you don't have one. And our fridge was in our living room. It still worked, but not well.
Hang in there! Hope the 3-4 days goes fast. :)

  12. I definitely know how hard it is! Being without power during a hurricane gives one a new appreciation for the frig.
